Jul 23, '02I'll be finishing prereq's for my ADN program this term, and will start clinical classes spring term.
I'm set to take A&P, Microbiology, Algebra, and Webpage Development ( I've got to have SOME fun ). The A&P class has two hours of lab a week, but the Micro class has 4! Yep, FOUR. Lots. Blargh.
Oh well. Almost there...
Jul 23, '02I'm taking:
Holistic Nursing (History of Nursing/Fundamentals)
Clinicals (1 day a week)
Skills Lab (1 day a week all morning)
Jul 23, '02This fall I'm taking Nursing 2010, which I think is Principles and Practices of Nursing 4.
My schedule is:
GIT: 10 am-12 pm (lecture)
Clinical: 3 pm-9 pm
Clinical: 3 pm-9 pm
Lab: 11 am-12 pm
GIT: 2:30 pm-4:30 pm
This is the easiest schedule I've had since starting school!
I'll also be working on Wednesdays, after class on Thursdays, and all weekend for a total of 32 hours per week.
Jul 23, '02I just started working on my pre-requisites this summer by taking Chemistry and Psychology (which I took online). I'll be taking Interpersonal Communications, English Comp., A&P1, and Nutrition this fall......all in the evening or online. I'll be applying for the Nursing program this spring for the 2003 Fall term. This is all so new, scary and exciting to me. I am just now going to school at 44 years old! Yes, I've been the oldest in my classes so far, but my grades are good (so far).

Jul 23, '02I'm 43 and still have a lot to go. We can do it!!! I noticed that some of you have a class that meets only once a week. What's up with that? I think I would fall behind if I had Pharm. only Monday's. Is that how it is in most nursing schools?
Jul 23, '02This is my first semester in the actual nursing school. I have been getting my prereqs out o the way. This fall I am taking:
College Chem 1
Master Student in Health Care (an oreintation class)
Financial Aspects of Health Care
History and Trends in Professional Nursing
Health and society
I could not take "nursing 101" because it is only offered in the spring, and I have to have patho to take pharmocology. I guess those and a couple of other nursing classes that have patho as a preq will be spring 2003
