How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.

I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.

Care to share?

Specializes in Med-Surg.
What are BVR and BWC?

Sorry about that...Bureau of Vocational Rehab (since I technically have a disability, unresolved carpal tunnel symptoms, they provide education...I think every state has it, and it's a wonderful program for those with disabilities trying to get back into the work force)...Bureau of Worker's Compensation.

Hi everyone-

I am Leah and I am 30. I am a senior in a BSN program and will graduate in May 2005. I have been married for 5 years and have a 9 month old daughter. I am currently doing my leadership & management clinical rotation as well as Critical Care. I am doing 2 8-hour shifts (11pm-7am) in the ED this weekend.

I am very eager to be done with school. I will be working full-time on the OB floor after graduation. I am pretty excited about it. I am also kinda nervous as this is a career switch for me and it may be hard to make the transition.

I have been reading postings on here for awhile and have posted a few times.

Just looking to connect with other new nurses!

Thanks!

I'm 21 and a new nursing student in the LVN/LPN program. I start clinicals next week and I am so scared. :uhoh3:

Don't worry. The instructors are not going to let you do anything that would jeopardize a patient's safety! Plus, you'll get time to practice your skills. Be confident! You'll do fine! :D
