How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.
I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.

Hi I am new to the site, My name is Michelle and I am from Michigan. I was just excepted into the nursing program for fall 05 so I am very excited. I am glad I found this site I am sure it will be useful. I am married and a mother of 2 boys 10yrs old and 7 yrs old.
Hey Michelle, I from Michigan too! Its nice to find someone from around here. My name is Shannon and I am finishing my second semester at Saginaw Valley's BSN program. Only 4 more to go!!! Where did you get accepted to?
Hi all, I am considered "old". I am 33, married mother of 3 beautiful girls, 6, 5, and 2 years old. This is my second career, I was a corporate paralegal and I thought I would end up in law school. I am attending Durham Tech in NC. Hopefully I can get into one of the Accelerated BSN programs since I have a BA. In NC, I have heard that it is pretty difficult to get into one of those programs. So I will try to make all A's and keep my fingers crossed, if not, I will be a happy ADN nurse. I will be just as proud.
I start A&P I this summer.

You are not too "old" to go into nursing! :) Do look into the Accelerated BSN programs. You do have to take the pre-reqs, but it is worth the shortened time period! Good luck!

Hi Mom of three in NC. No you are not old! I am 42 , the mother of three boys, 21, 18 and 13, and will start Nursing School this fall. My first career was homemaker and mom, and enjoyed every minute of it. My husband was career military, Ft Bragg was our 2nd home. We are now living in WNC, in the mountains, 30 min. from TENN, and on the GA line. I am just finishing A&P II, and I have done well in both I and II. I am anxious to get started. You will do fine just stay focused. Be blessed in your endeavours. :)

Hello, my name is Melanie. I am 30yrs old, I am married and we have a 5 yr old son. I have been going to school for the past 2 yrs getting prereqs out of the way and just found out today that I was accepted to one of the two schools I applied to. I am so excited even though it is the school that I am hoping I don't end up at. Just knowing that I am in no matter what. YEAH!!!!!!!!
I have been waiting and working hard for this. I have a wonderful friend who is currently in the nursing program (1st semester) and says that it is hard but don't give up. Everybody we have talked to says that by far the 1st semester is the hardest, just persevere. Yeah , I'm in.
PS: I love this site
