and lived to tell about it..
I haven't gotten back my finial grades yet but i think I can be comfortable and say that I passed. I'm crossing my fingers.
Anyway, wow guys, I'm done with my first year, I'm sure you are to, or about to those of you who started in sept 07 like me.
What a roller coster ride.
Working first fulltime, then having to quit my job of 4.5 years to go to a completely different job in order to be part time.
Being sick multiple times during this whole thing, I had the cold/flu for a record 4 or 5 times, three times in 2 months at one point.
I caught hemmoragic conjunctivitis during spring break and it lasted for two full weeks, and i had to miss my first week back at school. I had blood and gunk coming out of my eyes and severely decreased vision, and pain like you wouldn't believe.
I survived the blood, sweat, tears, careplans, clinicals, beginning med surg, fired instructors, working a 3-11 shift getting home at 1 in the morning to be back up at 6 again to go to clinicals for 7:30.
on and on
I survived and lived to tell about it
how about you?

Mystiqx,
Congratulations!! I also started Sept. 07 and just marvel at how much we have survived. I remember following some of your journey to get into school and being so happy for you when you were accepted. Wow did we have very little idea what we were in for. At first I was bemoaning that I had a year and a half still to go, but my husband pointed out that if I include prereqs I really have survived four plus years. So even though at times it was incredibly hard, you and I are troopers and we are that much closer to being nurses. Wishing you continued success, Mystiqx!!
Best regards,
Jean

Congrats! Wow, a short year ago, you were waiting for your acceptance to BI. Now you are half way done and I am just getting started. I hope my 1st year goes by quickly as well. Take care!

Congrats, I remember when you started the PBISON thread, the anxiety of getting in..and now youre half way through. I am so proud of you, what an accomplishment. You deserve a nice vacay for at least a week (dont get too comfy lol) Take care, just think we'll be celebrating your graduation this time next year.

Congratulations! This journey has made you a tougher, stronger person -- something it appears will be helpful as a nurse.
Here's to an easier path your second year.

yikes!! to you!! i mean... as a senior now, i remember getting sick freshman year... but not as much as you plus i didn't work like you so i have to give you props for that!!
i sometimes like to think that nursing school tests our limits to see how badly we want to become nurses. through all the hardships they want us to make sure we take care of ourselves before we can take care of others.... and heaven almighty they do quite a job of doing that. i'm still trying to take care of myself :chuckle:chuckle
but yes, i am now a senior... i can remember my first clinical freshman year... i don't want to think about graduating yet. i'm definitely not ready to leave my little nest
