All fees, 2 uniforms sets (with Sprague steth, shoes, and watch), CPR cert., and books will run about $900. The school also endorses a scholarship for top performers... they pay your NCLEX! Also, if you maintain your average above 90% until third semester (around Christmas time) you get a pseudo-scholarship (in the form of a check) for $350. There are other mini-contests and cash prize opportunities throughout the year. That makes the total amount out-of-pocket easier to swallow.
Our school is not eligible for aid since it is a vocational institute already subsidized by the state. Tuition itself is incredibly low compared to what others are saying.
According to the nursing program's website I'm appling to, we should expect to pay $800 -$1200 the first semester and then $200-$500 there after. This includes books and uniforms and required supplies. That's going to hurt in the bank account for sure. That is not including the tuition either.
I'm hoping to find out tomorrow. I was supposed to get my fall schedule done today, along with books and that sort of thing, but my advisor had to reschedule until Wed. Since I'll be attending a pricey school ($630/credit hour), I'm planning on at least $1k for books.
holy moly! may i ask, gulp, what school that would be?

According to my acceptance packet, we should expect to spend a minimum of $800....
. That's a lot of money. I am praying that my financial package will be complete before registration and orientation on July 7.
