How long is your nursing program?

I was just curious to find out how long your nursing programs are. I'm starting my real nursing courses this fall (yay!) :) for my BSN. It lasts for 5 semesters (but only includes the fall & spring semesters), which means I will graduate in Dec. 2006. How about you?

:)

Specializes in ED, Cardiac Medicine, Retail Health.

7 Semesters (Part Time program). Start Sept 04, Grad Dec 06.

Specializes in Burn ICU.

My program is 6 semesters, not including the summer. I'll be starting my pre-req's this Fall and should finish Spring 07. It seems so far away, but so close at the same time. My first four years of college was a breeze when I look back on it.

2 years, 4 or 5 semesters...I'm not sure if we go in the summer or not. I do know that we have to be licensed as an LPN before we can start our second year. I start in August of 2004 and will graduate after Spring of 2006...I can't wait to get started!

mine is 8 semesters (4 years) plus 2 preceptorships (end of third year, end of 4th year)

This is for a BSCN in Ontario, Canada.

Mine is 5 semesters. Fall 2004, Spring 2005, Summer 2005, Fall 2005, Spring 2006....GRADUATION!

3 semesters once you get into the nursing program.

Specializes in LDRP.

We have the following pre reqs/ co reqs:

psych

speech

chemistry

history

comp 1

a&p

micro

human lifespan

sociology

then we have 4 semesters of nursing courses. So, it is "possible" to do this all in about 5 semesters-but my school recommends you do all pre/co reqs prior to "entering the program"-so my ADN program can take from 2.5 to 4 years.

My program is 3 semesters for LPN. Fall, Spring and Summer. I will transition to RN after I work for a while which will be an additional 3 semesters. RN is 5 semesters otherwise.

Specializes in Pediatrics.

My LPN program is 3 semesters. The bridge program I am going into afterwards is 2 semesters (M-F 8AM-4PM). So, I guess the answer in total is 5 semesters, but only because I will be CLEPing the last of my pre/co reqs and going directly into the bridge, since I only have 3 or 4 left from my almost completed (but changed majors :uhoh21: ) AA degree from 2001.

the program im in only takes 4 semesters

Specializes in L&D.

Mine is 5 semesters also, but summers are included.

Our program, including prereqs, could be finished in a minimum of 5 semesters with summers off if you work your rear off.

Most people take an extra semester or two on prereq/coreqs before starting the actual nursing classes and take other classes during summers. One of my friends in class has been going at this part time for 4 years already and we still have one year to go.
