Hi everyone, new nursing student here..just a few questions

Hi all! I have a question, hoping some of you might be able to give me some insight.
I have just been accepted into the RN program starting in January (yay!) So my concern right now is class load. I will be taking nursing foundations (7 credit hours), & A & P II (4 credit hours), I need one more class to complete my (12 credit hours) for full time status, what would you reccomend? I need stats, but worry that this will be too difficult. Should I take a different pre-req , that isn't too difficult? Any ideas would be great.

Just one credit or just one class? You have a heavy load so if you could take aerobics I would. Otherwise, patho is always good. Sometimes classes have supplemental lectures for one credit that you could take too.

I would go with a PE class. I am taking Yoga this semester!

stats is not that difficult. it has more to do with thinking than actual math sometimes it can be a pain in the neck but at least in my experience it is not difficult. if you don't think it will come easily to you, however then i also suggest taking a p.e class such as yoga or meditation

If you can take a class this summer before you start in the fall, I'd take a pre-req during the summer and something really easy in the fall such as PE. Why make it more stressful then it already is? Good luck!

You should take an easier class. Take a pre-req. You should take stats in the summer this way your other classes don't get in the way. Of course it will be somewhat harder in the summer because it is shorter but it's better than taking it with your first semester of nursing classes.

Congratulations!! On getting in the program.

Wow,
What school accepted you?, I had to take A/P II before I could apply to my program.

Stats is not hard, but considering what you are taking, I would take a PE class as well. You are going to need it to release the stressors of those classes.

Knock out all your prereq's as soon as possible. Just be done with them so you can focus more on why you're there, nursing.

A&P was a pre req for us.

I would see if they offer stats online and take it, that way you are not waisiting money for a class you don't need.

I am currently taking Fundamentals which is 8 credits, Pharmacology which is 2 credits although it has the work of a 5 credit class I would argue. And Dosage and Calculations which is 3 credits and I have had no problems with the course load.

So if it were me I would see if they offer it online and get it out of the way.

I totally agree with everyone. If you only need 1 credit hour to get your FT status and keep your financial aid, then sign up for an easy class.
I actually enjoyed my Statistics class, so I won't be discouraging you on that. Are there any online classes that you can take thru the school which gives you credit towards graduation? If you haven't taken a Nutrition class, or even Life Span Psych, then those will be perfect supplement. They're not too heavy which is what I'd look for for my first year of program.
