ERI tests

Yep, we have 5 tests on different subjects each semester. This semester we had to take adult nutrition, community based nursing, therapeutic communication and adult systems X 2. We have to get an 80 on these or keep taking them.

The concept is to get familiar with NCLEX style questions. (at least my professors rationale) :chuckle

I hated those things. We were allowed to take them on our own time so...our class would go into the computer lab together and share answers (or what we believed to be). It sounds bad but we would learn a lot from eachother in the debate between the right answers.

Well, I just found out that the one we recently took on critical thinking is something we take in first semester & we'll take it again in our last semester to see how much we've improved. We have another one to take on fundamentals in 3 weeks....we have to pass that one in order to move on to second semester.

We have corresponding ERI's for every class and WE HATE them. Besides the fact that we have to pay extra for them, we have not found them to be indicitive of our true knowledge on each subject.

Hi,

We have been taking ERI at the end of every semester for the past 2 years. This week we took the ERI exit exam. I do not think these test questions are similar to the thousands of NCLEX questions I've been doing from review books.

The tests are adminstered as if they are really the NCLEX. The school sets the score that must be achieved to graduate. Pressure!!!

I agree with Melissa --WE HATE them too and they are not indicitive of our knowledge .

We have to take them also. although they are supposed to be tailored to the content of our course they always have something we have never seen before. We just have to score at or above the national average, which I think was 59 on the last one.

Yes, we have to take one at the end of each semester for each nursing class we are in, makes the class cost more and last semester did not correspond exactly to the material we covered. but, the professors say it will get us ready for nclex, so I guess that's good! Also the ERI tests are what we take on finals days, so no comprehensive finals (at least not so far!!)
