Did you get a studyguide for the final?

Fellow sufferers,

I was suprised to discover that the final, which is comprehensive covering 25 classes over 4 months, has no study guide. I've never taken a class before that had this policy. I think it's ridiculous, but that's pretty much what I thought of the rest of the course. They seem to have sort of made it up as they went along, so I don't think they really considered whether they would need one.

The final won't affect my grade anyway, in fact I'm considering not continuing with nursing at all and concentrating on a medical field, but still I think this is odd to expect students to review 25 classes without knowing what to concentrate on.

I wonder if this isn't a symptom of a program that's outside the norm. Maybe the reason I hate the curicculum so much in nursing is because these are not normal classes.

These sure aren't normal guidelines.

How's your final structured?

Ugh....going through the same here! No real review and the course certainly was made up as we went along. Such a JOKE! I have been going through the same as you. Thank the lord that I'm already an LPN because that's what has gotten me through this far. GOOD LUCK on your exams and best of luck to you in the new year. Happy Holidays!

our finals are comprehensive and cover approximately 30-35 chapters of med/surg and approximately 20 chapters of peds. we don't get a study guide but by the time the final rolls around, it's more like review anyway so we don't really need a study guide. i have yet to actually "study" for a final. i've reviewed a couple of sections each time but never spent more than an hour on it.

Nope, no study guide here.

Lisa :)

I'll take that luck Angie!...Thanks.

Rena,

We hardly touched anything but the fundamentals and the psych book. I'm just looking at my flashcards and comparing them with the objectives. I could probably get a passing grade tonight. All I need is a 75 anyway. I can miss 25 questions and get a "B" in the class. I'm just trying to figure in the "weird" ratio, since none of the other tests seem to follow any of thier studyguides very well anyway.

No study guide here either. We are having a "review" for a few hours on Wednesday, but it is student lead. That means that any of us can ask questions about the stuff we have forgotten between that test and the final. With 56 of us in the class, it should be quite productive.

It is VERY frustrating, but hopefully I will have retained enough to pass. I am studying, but with my pharm final and the final tests for each class, there isn't much time to focus on anything for long.

Did you get a studyguide for the final?

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAH !!!!!!!!!!!!:roll

THERE IS NO SUCH THING HERE!!!!!!!!!

best of luck on your finals peeps. :)

The harder I work.................the luckier I get.;)

Yea, we got a study guide....the one we had been making all along. Notes, drawings, tapes, photocopies, etc. Unfortunately we can't use it during the test. ;)

Good luck.

our final in fundamentals will consist of 7 [number 7 is in the morning] previous test (so many chapters i can count with out looking!) and 2 new chapters.

i will focus more on the 2 new chapters and review the previous test in order of the ones i did less on.

having only a week to prepare, (final 12/16), i will do what i can.

i still have a pharm and health assessment final too. i finished all of my assignment in cis and my orientation class will consist of a final as well.

peeps, why are you considering leaving the program?

all the best to every one.

i have a test in the am on nutrition.

Well GOOD LUCK to everyone on finals !!!!!!! I know I'll need an angel on my shoulder for this weeks finals!
