hi everyone.
I got pulled out of class on Friday and was told that the girl sitting next to me cheated during our test last week. The teacher wants me thrown out of school also...he says that I did not do enough to prevent her from looking at my paper. I now have an appointment with the dean to appeal this. I did not let her cheat, and I would never be part of that.
Has anyone experienced this? I am so petrified right now. My future could be over because of some stupid girl.
help!!
I would like to know if the prof talk to the girl that was cheating off your test. If he was paying that much attention to her cheating off you test then why he/she didn't realize that you weren't paying attention to the fact that the girl was cheating. Being a Professional, he/she should have took that individuals test. :angryfire
What was the End result?
EXACTLY! This poor individual is from CANADA! I, originally from N.H., moved to Quebec (Canada) because I got married. It's a terrible place. So very different from the U.S. It is not, wait until they prove you guilty, it is FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT to prove you are innocent. Because my darling husband is taking his sweet old time to decide whether he wants to move or not, I am tired of waiting, and have started taking prerequisites for my nursing degree. I have applied to schools in Vermont because there are no english program for nursing where I live and I have been told that I am not competent enough in French to enroll in their three year degree program for nursing. I am paying tuition of $16,704 PER YEAR, so times two, will be over $30,000 for a 2 year nursing degree because I am out of state. They do things so differently there and I absolutely HATE IT! My heart goes out to this girl who is being taken advantage of. I wish I knew what to tell her but I don't. All I can say is that there is a local legal clinic that offers free advice. PM me if more information is needed.
i have asked about nebhe, a lowered tuition rate but unfortunately, it does not ``cross the border.`` that is what i was told by the financial aid administrator at my school. i would have to move back to the u.s., but then again, tuition rates for resident do not become effective for one year. i would be living there for one year and paying the same tuition as i am now. the resident tuition only applies twelve months after you live there so i really wouldn`t be saving, plus rents are more expensive in the u.s. than where i am in canada.
as for montreal, i am 2 hours and 30 minutes away, one way, so that is not feasible. newport vermont is 50 minutes away and lydonville is one hour away. also, the program in montreal in 3 years, versus 2 years for the u.s. adn program. the salary i`ll make in my first year nursing will somewhat make up for the cheaper schooling in canada. the tuition rates in canada are unbelievably low compared to ours in the u.s.

And if all that doesn't work...
File a complaint with anyone who is providing you financial aid (if you get kicked out, there goes their investment!)
File a complaint with (aka write a letter to the editor of) the newspaper, highlighting this professor's failure to address the cheating instead of blaming you for it!
File a complaint with the congressional representative for the district in which your school is located (almost all schools get some form of federal money) Do it with the state rep, too.
File complaints with both the college and the student governing board. Show up at their next meetings and speak during public comment time.
In short, don't give up! If you haven't done anything wrong, it is totally unfair for this professor to have the power to impact your life in such a profound way. Good luck.
