Well gang, it's official! I start the rn refresher program in Dayton, Ohio on January 13th at the same hospital I was born at! I"m so excited, I've been grinning so hard my cheeks are starting to hurt...but the hurt is GOOD because I am going back to work in a career field that I have always dearly loved...nursing! Ahhhhhhhh....it's so refreshing to have been given this blessing right at Christmas! :D

I will be traveling alone by car very early this coming Saturday morning to my daughter's in Indy where I will hang out while preparing for my transition back to being a Buckeye once again after soooooooo many years away! Indianapolis is only an hour's drive from where I will be working, so spending Christmas and New Years with my daughter, son-in-law, and seven grandkids will be plenty of exercise for me to prepare me for the halls of nursing again! ;)

Please pray/send up positive thoughts for me to have safe travels this weekend! I've waited five long years for this gift of returning to nursing, and now it's finally here! :)

I'm looking forward to enrolling at Wright State in their RN-BSN program by Fall 2003 (I found out that I can't start before that time frame unless I take their online RN-BSN course which starts twice a year...in the spring and the fall).

Well, I just wanted to share my wonderful blessings with my Allnurses siblings! :nurse:

I wish you the best of luck. You will be great!!

Wonderful news Renee! (That picture of Prince and your husband is hilarious! I bet he's a little ham) :D

Hey Cheerful doer - thats great news! Reading your thread makes me happy, and you are about to go on a journey through space and time. You are about to enter "The Employment Zone." :-) Have a safe trip back to buckeye land. I wish I could be your CNA during every day of your orientation. This is great news!! All my best to you.

Congratulations!! It's always nice to do something new (keeps us young!) :)

Congratulations! I hope that it is everything you want and then some.

Congrats to you! I hope you re-enjoy nursing!

Cheerfull so glad for you! Congrats and all the best. Just remember this I learned from one of my great PCTs. " I am too blessed to be stressed!" That about sums it up. Sherry

Thank you Heather333 and SherryRN! Happy Holidays to you and your families, too! :)

Sherry, "I am too blessed to be stressed" is one of my favorite quotes, too! How can I possibly say THANKS for all the wonderful things HE has done for me in my life! I repeat that phrase over and over in my mind whenever I start to feel the slightest tension over anything, and it pulls me back to the positive side of living everytime! Thanks for sharing it with me! :kiss :nurse:
