If you were given the oppurtunity today to be a Physician Assistant or a Nurse Practioner which would you rather be....?

I am not planning on doing either,,,,, but if I had to choose it would be NP,,,, hands down,,,,,,
As with heather,,,,, sometimes I worry about my emotional investment in it,,,, so hard to keep it going,,,, everytime I get going someone throws a wrench in it!!!!
~~ Kitamoon,,,,, always a nurse,,,,,,

Can't say enough for NP!
You build on the foundation of your NSG career.
Having worked in an office with an MD, a PA and ME (ACNP/FNP) guess who fills the waiting area, and acutally has patients willing to sit out the wait?
Nurse Practitioners are growing a following like no one could imagine. My MD's patients gripe when they wait 20 minutes. I can go into my waiting room, and explain I have an emergency at the hospital, and will be back in 30 minutes, and ALL of my patients are still there.
I honestly do think ANY MID-LEVEL PRACTITIONER job could be so pleasing.
And to be honest, the role of an NP, is so vastly different from an RN, that "investment" you speak of... would really not be the issue you think it is.
Hope this helps.

I honestly haven't looked and inquired between them.
I work with mostly PA's...no NP's.
