Would someone please explain this to me? I don't really have a full grasp of what a 'vegan' is...I think it's the most restrictive vegetarian, but then, this couple wouldn't let their kid have breast milk? Why not? Link to the article:

Being a vegan is one thing...
Starving your baby to the point of malnutrition, fractures, rickets, distended abdomen, and developmental delay is another...
And the part about the dad being worried b/c she started to look "chubby" after she was taken away and fed real food...

They are ovbiously very troubled people.
Potatoe chips would be vegan food because pototes are not an animal and they are not animal byproducts.
But they are full of cholesterol, and cholesterol is an animal byproduct. Made by the liver if I remember those nutrition lectures correctly.
Hmmm.
I think the cholesterol content comes from the oils they fry the potatoes in - as potatoes themselves don't have cholesterol.
But then they must be animal fats and oils that they are fried in. Cholesterol is not present in vegetables or vegetable oils.
