I'm so nervous...in 6 hours, i clock in for my first shift as a RN...on my "home" floor that i've been teching on for the last 2 years....so, I'm nervous. It's one thing to go from teching to being the "nurse". I know that I can be an effective RN for my patients, but it's the whole "worrying about the unknown" thing that is coming back tonight...

I just want to get through that day and learn things...and realize all the extra things that I need to do with patients....ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel comfortable with certain types of patients, but others are going to be a little nervewracking...so here goes!

Try to get a good night's sleep, relax, you'll be awesome! Congratulations!

Good Luck I remember My first day so well, I pinned the badge to my lapel and I was soooo proud, and I have never lost that, even in the bad days, the days I screwed up, the day I did well and the days I was owesome!!! (and I mean that in the British sence we tend to be understated so maybe stellar don't know?) you will never be the same person again, I mean it! a nurse recently who had retrained as a speak therapist and she cried the day she didn't reregister, and I well, I reregistered on the 28th May dispite moving to the US and finishing work on the 2nd May...it's more than a job it's a way of life...oh and watch the respect people give you at parties/doos amazing,

good luck it's a roller coaster but worth the ride, in my humble opinion anyway! 18 years and still applying so I can work in the US so It can't be that bad? can it?:nurse:
