Is it just me or does it seem like all hospital management care about is patient surveys? It drives me crazy cause all I hear about now are patient satsifaction scores. It seems like we've kind of moved away from patient care and we have become costumer service centered. I feel like a sales rep at times.

Thank you for your participation in our survey! :p

Yes my hospital is totally all about the surveys, and usually all we hear about is the bad ones and never what a great job we are doing. It's very annoying...I can't help that some other nurse had a bad day and a patient had to complain about it. Or of course the patients that are never happy no matter what you do. Unfortunately its usually the patients who feel that they have something to complain about that actually fill them out and send them in.

Specializes in cardiothoracic surgery.

I don't even bother looking at our scores anymore. They survey such a small percentage of our patients, that the numbers mean nothing to me. I have better things to worry about than what Mr. Press Ganey has to say about us. Now off to studying for my PCCN.....at least this will help further my knowledge and hopefully make me a better nurse. I can't say this about our Press Ganey scores.
