    • I enjoy working with Nursing students.
    • I don't have enough time for my workload as it is. A student is the last thing that I need. I would do it but not at the expense of the patients' and student's safety.
    • It comes with the job so I have no choice.
    • I never want to work with students again.

The purpose of this poll is to illustrate the challenges the Nurses face in accomodating and supervising students while providing direct patient care.

Multiple selections are permitted. This poll will close in thirty days. Thank you for participating.

Sorry- the 'purpose of a poll' is NOT to 'illustrate' your pre-determined conclusion. It is to gather information and opinions.

Specializes in ER.

How about:

1) I like working with all students

2) I like working most students

3) I dislike working with most students

4) I dislike working with all students

5) I'm indifferent on the subject

Please explain your answer.

Right. I feel like there should be a banner and asterisks stating "PICK #2!!"

Not a very unbiased poll.

I enjoy teaching students most of the time. If they are cocky, entitled, rude, interrupt my teaching to the patient, etc. I get irritated and do not enjoy it. I also do not enjoy it when we are extremely busy and trying to teach while juggling an extremely busy floor. Certain students can make it okay on these days, if they just basically follow me and listen when I have time to explain things they get on my good side and then when/if things slow down later I take more time to go through things with them.

In general though, it definitely makes a shift more exhausting, more work, more stress and much louder environment. The attitudes, behaviour and personalities of the students makes a huge difference.
