Open toed shoes to interview?

Is this a cardinal sin? They look so much cuter with my outfit than the closed toe pair that I have. If it makes a difference, the interview is for OR.

If you mean flip-flops, then definitely not. Remember to dress for the interview, not the job. Good luck, and don't space out over appearance too much. Remember to SMILE!

I* think a lot of those old rules are being thrown out of the window. Who cares if ou show a little toes. It is not like you are showing your cleavage, though I have heard of toe clevage in a magazine!! Is your skirt midway up your thigh? Does your breast nearlyfall out of your blouse when you bend over too far? OK, then. As long as you are dressed in a conservative manner you should be fine...in my opinion!!!

Oh, and of course, flip flops are a no-no. I am talking about dress shoes that show some toe!!

I'm wearing slacks and a button down shirt, no cleavage to speak of so none will be revealed (nonetheless, I'll be buttoned) and they are dress shoes that show a little toe.

Especially if you are going to tour the unit. Then again, you will probably have to wear shoe covers so it may be a moot point anyway!

I had a super interview outfit, and as soon as I got up to the unit to meet with the manager, I had to put an isolation gown on because its a "clean environment" like the OR - meaning that we change into our scrubs and shoes in a locker room.

So I guess I'd wear what was most comfortable.

Good luck in your interview tomorrow! I bet you will recieve a tour of the suite. If they don't offer, you could request one, so you can get a quick sense of the enviroment. They will provide you with scrubs and you can put shoe covers over your dress shoes. (You could bring some tennis shoes in a bag if you wanted) I hope it goes well, Please be sure and let us know.

Personally, I would not wear open toe shoes. Yes, they are cute, but not on an interview. However, I would be more apt to wear a serious suit dress or outfit so open toe shoes would not be an option. Anyways, good luck!

I read somewhere that you should dress for an interview like the job you will be doing. However, I DON'T think anyone does that in nursing...wearing scrubs to an interview????? But I also don't think you need to dress like a lawyer. The oufit I wear is nice gray pants, a lightweight sweater, and dress shoes...and I got all the jobs I wore that to. I think open-toed shoes are ok for summer as long as they are dressy, and probably for an interview would look best with pants. I just don't think it's necessary to wear a fancy suit for a nursing job, unless it's for a management position or something like that.
