Online support group for infertility?

I guess the title says it all. Does anyone know of an online community or support group for infertility? Preferably a US based one? Thanks!:flowersfo :thankya:

I love www.tcoyf.com based on the book "taking charge of your fertility" this website has many forums, including trying to conceive, infertility, IVF/IUI, pregnancy loss and so on.....good luck. it took me a while to get my baby. being very informed helped the process along. you can't be too informed about this fertility stuff!

oooh, I have that book - it is great! Thanks for the link! I had pretty much convinced myself I was ok with not having a baby, until today 2 people I know announce they are preggers. One is my age and not married, but in a committed relationship. Baby was not planned but they are excited. Other one is unmarried, no relationship with the father, etc. Both total accidents. I am happy for them, but I just lost it, thinking it just sucks that people who aren't trying to get pregnant have these "accidents", happy or not, and people like me and many others struggle with infertility. Congrats on your baby!

I like the American Fertility Association's website. www.theafa.org

Haven't exactly struggled with it yet (since i haven't tried to get pregnant yet, but that time will come, since it's been proven through tests and such that it'll be a challenge) but i know what you mean about when it seems like it's all around you, like when people make comments like "so when are you gonna have kids" or my personal favorite "if you had kids, you'd understand."

I am a member of tcoyf and it was okay but I found that I really like http://www.fertilityfriend.com, this has a "sister" site that you switch to after you become pregnant, I went through infertility for four years before I finally went with IVF and have my wonderful son!

You'll find tons of the support you seek there. It's amazing how difficult the world can be when you are considering conceiving and it's not coming easily to you - both from people who know your situation and complete strangers. You definitely have my sympathy.

froggg123--Congrats on your son! Four years of infertility?...you must be a very strong woman. It's been 2 years for me and it's just awful...

Fleur-de-lis-I also totally recommend fertilityfriend.com. It'a a great site, it's huge, and filled with incredibly smart women who know an awful lot about infertility. In addition, I consider the book "take charge of your fertility" the bible of fertility/infertility. For all who haven't read it yet, it will completely inspire you about your body!

Marie, yes-people say some pretty insensitive stuff when it comes to infertility! My own sisters will say things like, "you don't have kids, so it's really easy for you to do this or that..." :(

I know how you feel.I found Fertilitext.com by accident.On that site I found that so many women having problems conceiving.On this site you will find so many with your problem.I'm 37 and running out of time, but I do have a 13yr old and wanted another shot at motherhood.Found out both of my tubes are blocked.Doctor told me of a procedure and thought twice about being a mom at my age and scared me because of the freedom I have.But Sweetie you are still young.I don't know how long you have been trying to conceive, but if you need help go seek help from a fertlily doctor and see what the problem is. :( I totally understand what you're going through... My husbands best friend just gave birth to their second child, and we are still trying for our first. I am extreamly happy for them but I just want to strangle them too. There is hope, my cousin who has simular fertility problems just had twins through IVF. It took them 5 years to concieve before IVF, two tries with it. She loved fertility friends.... and after this forum I think I'm going to start looking into it... Good luck!

I have endured this journey 4 times, twice ending in miscarriage (took 2 years for 1st pregnancy, miscarried, then got pregnant with our daughter, then got pregnant when she was a year old, only to miscarry again - am now 17 weeks into this pregnancy and feeling great) - throughout all the tears and frustration I found a wonderful site called Trying To Conceive www.tryingtoconceive.net they have great groups and the administrator of the board has all kinds of tricks up her sleeve to help you see the light at the end of the tunnel. I used natural herbs to conceive with my daughter and this latest pregnancy - based on information I gathered from this site. I'm sending you all baby dust!!! Please don't lose hope.

good luck to you on your journey! Infertility is a horrible thing to deal with. For me, every month when I got my period, I felt like such a complete loser....

I was married five years before we started to intentionally try to conceive and what a journey. I've had 3 IUI's, 2 rounds of IVF and a FET (frozen embryo transfer) all with no success. I changed doctors, he changed meds and did a 5 day transfer instead of 3 and I was finally pregnant ! Will was born in 2004 and when he was 13 months old, I became pregnant naturally. Who would've ever thought? I haven't had to use contraception in years!

My second son is now 7 months old and I am thankful.

Looking back to that period, I always used to visit the bulletin boards on www.resolve.org , they also had a lot of information posted on procedures and the other women and men who posted were always so helpful!
