Are any of you California nurses having any delays in renewing your RN license. Yes, I waited to the last minute and submitted my renewal 5 days before it expired online and got a receipt for my payment. So daily I would check and it would say pending. The day after the expiration date it said delinquent. When you call state board you can NEVER get through even if you start calling when they first open. The stressful thing is I can't wrk and now suspended by my employer. Has anyone gone to Sacramento to get their lincense? HELP!

I know how you feel.I found Fertilitext.com by accident.On that site I found that so many women having problems conceiving.On this site you will find so many with your problem.I'm 37 and running out of time, but I do have a 13yr old and wanted another shot at motherhood.Found out both of my tubes are blocked.Doctor told me of a procedure and thought twice about being a mom at my age and scared me because of the freedom I have.But Sweetie you are still young.I don't know how long you have been trying to conceive, but if you need help go seek help from a fertlily doctor and see what the problem is. Has anyone change to night shift from day shift? Since my nursing career started 10 years ago I've pretty much worked day shift for nine years.When I got my LVN I worked night shift for 1 year and hated it, I think because at the time I had a little one and it was a 8 hour shft.I felt like I was never rested.Now as a RN I've been working day shift, 12 hour shifts and loved the schedule 2 days on and 3 off.I'm getting ready to start a new possition at a new hospital and had a choice for day or nights and chose nights.The reason is I'm so tired of the hustle and bustle of day shift. The managers, doctors, FAMILY, mini meeting that take up time, just the caos.Working day shift I feel like I let my patients down.I never have time for them, I don't have time to care.And when I do sit and try to be there for them I find myself always looking at the time and not really being there attentively,yall know what I mean. I can go on and on. I just want to know am I making the right decision?

I'm all for that Versant program.As a new grad I would really take advantage of it.In that program you will be kind of sheltered, not expected to know everything you suppose to know as far as your skills.Most of your skills will come from working on your own on the floor.If you were to go to a Hospital that only give you like 6 weeks of orientation, then you are thrown to the dogs.So take advantage of those type of programs so you will learn to be a safe nurse.

I was just hired to work the Med/Surg 7th floor.Can any nurses give me info about the working conditions,staff,patient ratio,doctors/nurses relationships, and any other info you can give.I already know about benefits and pay I just need info on the overall working conditions.Is night shift easier than day shift?

Suzanne,when you do perdiem work at other hospitals,do they give an orientation.Do you know what UCLA perdiem rates are? What other hospitals can you think of that have good rates.Thanks for your info.Your response has really helped me to make my decision.

I'm making $33.00 hour working as staff nurse on Med/Surg unit.I'm working 12 hour shifts 3 days a week. I am thinking about quiting and doing local travel assignments with a travel company with contracts so that I am garanteed work.Now that I have read many post I don't think I would be making any more that I am making now because I won't be traveling 50 miles or more.And are you guys making money because of the deductions you can write off or what? Can a local traveler make more than I make at my cuurent job?One travel company offered me $440.00 a 12 hour shift after taxes does that sound right.Is there any nurses out there doing local travel assignments in los angeles.Pleeeeese Help Me. I need to make a decison, the right decision.

Hi everyone in travel land. I,m considering doing local travel assignments within the next month and very concerned with the rates and choosing the best agency for locals.I've been nursing now for 8yrs in Med/Sur-Tele and working 12hour shifts making 33.00 an hr, bringing home around 3000/month.Can I make more working the same shift 3 days a week?When I read some of the post some nurse say they only make 30-33 and hour.If I can only make that I might as well stay where I am.Are there some other benifits that they offer that you can bring home more money like waiving all benifits?also help on the best agency to do local assignments and what to negotiate.What agencies staff County Hospitals and what agencies staff the smaller non teaching hospitals?Readylink calls me evey now and then and offers me take home around $440 a shift after taxes, is that the norm for all agencies or does something sound wrong with that. To all the traveling nurses in Cali.I've been nursing now for 8yr and now decided to do local traveling assissgnments.What are the best agencies in Cali for local assignments.The only benefit I need is 401K.What about housing? I heard if you work as a local you can pocket the housing cost.Tell me about the flexibilty, do you pick your own days or do they plugg you in where you are needed.Do you have to work every other weekend?, and what about the holidays do we have to work them also.I quess what I am asking, do we call the shots when it comes to scheduling.Someone please give me info on Fasstaff,nightingale, and americanmobile.Also someone give me a general idea on the pay rate. Hi, I'm new to this forum.Does anyone know what Davita pay their HD nurses ?I'm a RN with 7 + years in Med/Sur in La and I am so burned out with a patient load of 10 everyday.I'm considering swithcing to this area,but I've been reading other nurses stories on how they are being paid.I'm currently making $32.00 hour.
