Ugh! I swear to all things sacred that it must be a full moon (or some equally strange superstitious whickety-woo). Not that anyone could tell without looking at a calender...unless one looks our ED. Or our floors. I do believe I should have worn my rollerblades to work. Or at least car-jacked my dad's Rascal. Complete with red streamers. Yes, I put them on. No, the bike horn was not my idea.

No --- it's the drop in the barometric pressure with the storm that's hitting the middle of the country now and soon to hit the east coast.

It's french toast time at the local stores and New York and Connecticut are preparing to shut down in prep of the storm. Things always get crazy before a storm and they're saying it'll be a 'bigun'.

What's all your opinion of The Weather Channel naming winter storms... this one is Nemo. Duuummmbbb. (Wasn't Nemo the name of a Disney character?)

LOL, I knew a CT fellow that would do rounds on rollerblades. He got away with it for a while, that is, until someone made an issue of it with admin. Funny and cool dude too. I love working with people like that. They make the job so much better.

Chessy, maybe you could just pretend you are on rollerblades or flittering from patient to patient like a sprite. You could do that whole imaginary thing like JD on Scrubs. :rolleyes:

I usually like being busy, b/c I tend to be a little hyper, and I get antsy when things get too slow--not that I can't find other things to do--it's just tough doing those 12+ hour night shifts when they drag. Either that, or they drag until 3am, which is when night shift starts to hit me physically. Of course, it's not unusal for something to comes up, and then you just got to put it in full gear. Worst is getting hit with crap an hour or less before end of shift. It's funny how I am usually alright until 0300-0400. And at that time, I really don't want to do caffeine, b/c it will definitely affect my sleep.

BTW, science continues to say the whole full moon thing isn't true; but I just don't believe em. I've worked too many crazy full moons. Mere coincidence...hmmm...maybe so, maybe not. :specs:

I am a firm believer in the full moon.....dropping barometric pressure or any other belief to explain why the crazies run in groups at certain times of the month...

For one practice I worked at, it was always a coupla days before the NEW MOON, not the full moon. And here, the new moon will rise on Sunday Feb. 10.

Seems like every time there may be a storm, the news media sensationalizes it to the point of being ridiculous. The Weather Channel has even exceeded that and has become totally useless. The problem is that so many folks actually believe what they read, see, and hear in the media and hang on every word and cliche that is tossed their way.

It is winter, and in the northern part of the US, there is snow. There is also snow in southern California.

Is this an issue? Probably.

Is this a problem? Most likely not.

Aside from the North and South Poles, has there ever been a snowfall that left us with snow forever?

This, too, shall pass.
