Nurses Week

Nurse's week is here again. During my 33 years in the profession , our dedication has been acknowledged in different ways. Sometimes, it was an ice cream cone.

Last year, my employer did not acknowledge nurses in any way.

I would appreciate ANY acknowledgement to show I am appreciated for my role in health care. I have dedicated my life , worked my tookas off, and deserve recognition.

Has anyone else. been ignored this week?

I don't really care about Nurses Week. I'd much rather get treated decently as an employee all year than be showered with gifts one week of the year. If I'm not being treated decently as an employee, it doesn't matter to me what kind of swag I get this week.

Agree.

Although I gladly take the gifts that my employer gives, and the perks that are out there; As long as I an practice the way I want to safely, everything else is secondary.

Nurses week doesn't start until tomorrow! Maybe you won't be ignored after all!

I think it is important to show appreciation all year around, but I have planned to celebrate with nurses on my team for this special week. I could not have asked for a better team and I want them to know how much they mean to their patients, the company and myself. Today, I had a special brunch planned for them and they know to expect a special delivery tomorrow, to get the week officially started. Each day for the next week, they will get something special, then I have something "big" planned at the end of Nurses Week. I have worked at places where nurses went unnoticed/unappreciated and I made a promise to not be that type of manager. A simple "Thank You" goes a long way.

(sorry for the ramble, but I have strong feelings on this subject!).

HAPPY NURSES WEEK!!!!! :)

You are right, Don'tStop! Lets hope the OP has a great celebration. (Never hurts to get the party started early )

Happy Nurses Week! You are appreciated!

Swag is not required. I am treated very well.

I was not asking to be showered with gifts. I was asking for an acknowledgement of the fact that I am a nurse.. during nurses week.

The company I worked for planned for DAYS for a Cinco De Mayo celebration. They couldn't send out an email.. "Thank You Nurses"?
