NO WONDER WE DON'T SEE ANY CHANGES!!!

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I have not posted much on BB's. However, I feel that I must now. You each set here and ***** , moan, and groan about the shape that nurses are in. However, I have noticed that when a topic is posted that is a suggestion to improve nursing, it gets very few replies. Most of the post are related to BS. What freaks you out! Favorite bands etc. etc. etc. why don't each of you get up off of your carcasses and do something to improve nursing rather than sit here and ***** , ***** , and ***** . I know I will get slammed for this but I don't care. I am doing things in an attempt to improve nursing. If the time that was spent on the boards bitching was spent on time improving the profession, there is no telling what we would be capable of doing. But this is not going to happen because all you want to do is ***** and if nursing was to improve, you would have nothing to ***** about!!!

Please fill us in on what exactly you are doing, so that we may direct our energies appropriately. :)

if you will look at the bb under yours you will see several people that have responed and notified their senator.also several post on strikes and changes in nursing conditions in the state have been posted.I come here because we can find out from each other what is going on throughout the country.and sometimes its nice to just chat with other nurses even though it does not concern nurses.it gets very serious in here at times and its nice to lighten up.but I feel just knowing what each state is going through can make a diffrence.in california we have the patient-ratio law but not the mandatory overtime law why should it be diffrent from stste to stste?

Does someone also have to tell you what is wrong with nursing and what needs to be done, then you probably wouldn't be much help anyway!!! So direct your energies the way you have been, "DOING NOTHING"

so,uh stiritup,

Since you seem to have all of the energy to come here and post with such an attitude, What are you doing to improve the nursing profession that is so wonderful??? Please clue us in on it so that we may follow in thy footsteps!

I for one don't ***** because it really doesn't get you any where except to make you ***** some more. I think it has to start with each and everyone of us...

I have to say that I am quite shocked by your post, and not too much shocks me these days. I get angry and outraged at times, too, with the state of affairs in health care. But, I try not to attack my fellow nurses, if I can help it! I have been known to tell a few nurses to get off their butts!!

I have to tell you that I have been a nurse for a long time and I have seen more activism in nursing within the last few years than ever before. So, there is hope stiritup!! Anger can be a good motivator sometimes, if it's directed in a healthy manner. I have a feeling that something else is going on with you stiritup? Come on spill your guts! We're tough, we can handle it!

I believe that "STIRitup" is just trying to do exactly what the names says!!!!! STIR up trouble!!!!

Instead of being mad, I believe that you are only trying to "motivate" us all, by the feelings you have.

Ok Stiritup- I really don't see any solutions or proposals that you have made in an effort to "change" nursing. We have discussed this issue back and forth, back and forth. If you look, there are 53 (yes count 'em) 53 pages of posts here, most of which fall under the topic of evoking change. Alot of us simply want to discuss other things, like hobbies (or habies, to some) music, etc as a means of NETWORKING. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Most of us respond to the "change nursing" discussion with thoughful, well articulated comments and ideas. Simply insulting us or using expletives usually doesn't get anyone anywhere - and I for one never really respond to that type of inflammatory sensationalism.

stiritup,

Your whole post sounds like a ***** session.

High five to ya, sistah!! You really know how to use that keyboard to cut like a blade!!!

how absurd! If all of the problems in the nursing profession could be solved by typing on a BB we would all be rich BSN's with 2 pt.s each. I have seen postings on this board from 50 states and at least 3 contries, each with their own nurse practice act and governing bodies. The problems in the South are not the same as in nothern In. When I come home from work I like to decopress and I enjoy the off topic postings, Please note this says OFF TOPIC. How dare you assume that because I am not screaming at a BB that I am doing nothing. I see you offering no solutions or topics for concideration on the subject. Boy I'll bet you make a heck of a manager.

Stiritup, your post seems simply to be an inflammatory effort; you obviously chose your nickname with one purpose in mind. Actually, up until this post, I have avoided reading your posts simply based on your nickname because I assumed, with that name, the posts were going to be more rant-and-rave, dissention-causing issues. Appears I was right :).
