I have a delimma - I just graduated in January with my BSN, and am working in L&D. I enjoy my job but i don't love it. I really enjoy fitness and stuff in that area, and am wanting to find a job in that area. I have searched the internet like crazy and I cant find anything that RN's can do in the fitness industry, but I know there are jobs. I was hoping someone here knew of "job titles" for RN's in the fitness area. I've looked in my old text books, internet, etc. and can't find anything. i would really appreciate it if anyone could help me come up with a title to search for on the internet. Thank you!

Specializes in surgical, neuro, education.

First of all--congrats on graduating. There are SOOOOO many areas you can go into in nursing. One thing you might want to consider is teaching health topics. It does help to have some experience in patient care--but if you listen to things that the public believe or misunderstand it is scary. You could start out looking for chances to do inservices at your facility, your church, or look into doing home care where health teaching and prevention is a large part of your position. Feel free to IM with any quesitons.

Specializes in ICU, PACU, Cath Lab.

Well I am not sure if this is what you have in mind. But in my facility the Cardiac Rehab nurses work in a gym with patients on treadmills and other equip. Teaching about fitness and all that Jazz. I have heard it is a very relaxed place to work as a nurse!
