Just laid off!

OK, y'all...37 yrs experience with several certifications, blah blah blah. Just laid off due to "budget cuts." Don't quite know where to go from here. I know the market sucks right now.... I also know I'm not alone. Thanks for "listening." Just needed to vent!

I HATE hearing about retrenchments. I know how I felt when my husband was laid off, like the bottom had just fallen out of my world.

Thank you so much for all of your supportive responses! It means so much! Husband is telling me to just throw in the towel. I don't know that I'm ready to do that just yet. I've dedicated my entire life to this career and that's like telling me to just go get my legs amputated because they've carried me long enough! Although he is trying to understand, there's just no way he possibly can. I would like to leave this career on my own terms, not that of some "bean counter" sitting behind a desk without a clue. They may break my heart...that's a battle. Attempt to break my spirit...that's all out WAR. I'm flexible like that! Carry on, sweet nurses. You are wonderful people who are sorely needed.
