just have to tell you guys this story

Nurses General Nursing

Published

We have a resident who is generally thought to arrogant, lazy and nasty. Most of our residents are great(no kidding) but this guy is a son of a gun. Anyway, he turned to my coworker and said, "call me a cab". She just gave him a shocked look. Another nurse who is very quick with the verbal comebacks leaned over to him and said, "You're a cab!". :rotfl: She then grabbed the nurse who was still standing there with a shocked look on her face and pulled her out of the nurses station. :chuckle

I thought you meant a resident (= MD in specialty training).

The term "student doctor" refers to a medical student, right?

Well, whoever it was, I wonder he had the nerve :uhoh21:

I guess I thought you guys would realize that the type of resident I spoke of was a student doctor.

:chuckle :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle .......Now...that is funny!!!!

I don't mean to overanalyze, but we are talking medical residents, not LTC residents, correct? And a big hahaha and a round of applause to the quick thinking nurse. Call a cab yourself, jerk.

EDITED TO ADD: SIGH... I should have read the second page of responses. Right-o, a medical resident, which is what I thought you meant, since the story really wouldn't have been funny otherwise...

Somebody will have to explain this one to me , I don't get it? :chair:

He said "Call me a cab." So the nurse did...she said You're "a cab".

She didn't use the phone to get bossy boots a taxicab, which is what he ordered her to do. Instead, she called him the name "cab".

absolutely Perfect!!!

When I was a cardioperfusion student at Texas Heart Institute, we would ask the circulator to call us a gas (ABGs) every now and then. So I say "call me a gas" and Dr. Denton Cooley never misses a beat and says, "you're a gas!"
