Just because I'm in uniform does not make me fair game

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I was inspired by another thread in which someone pointed out that men fantasized about nurses. It's beyond irritating to be objectified. Anyway, when I was still in nursing school I worked as a nursing assistant. One early morning, all decked out in my nursing uniform, I was heading for my car when a man who was walking down the street stopped me, using that tiresome "I think I need a nurse, take my pulse" Gee fellah, do you think you're the first moron to come up with this line? Instead of being annoyed, I suddenly got a great idea. So I took his pulse and it was normal. Instead of telling him it was just fine and dandy, I feigned concern and told him he needed to get to his M.D. pronto, because his pulse was "dangerously irregular," and it might be atrial fib (as if he knew what that meant.) Suddenly he turned from a lothario wanna be into a sprinter, rushing off to call his doctor I presume.

I do fantasize about buying new golf clubs

On the contrary, I find them very sexy...however, how a woman "looks" in scrubs is only secondary. I'm attracted to strong, intelligent women, and a nurse embodies all those things. Not the reason I'm going into nursing at all. I dont' think my wife woudl approve LOL...this is just an observation I've made since working as a CNA

Very good point.

Judging from another post that you've made, I'm very confident that you're going into nursing for all the right reasons. :)

(It was the post about how you handled a dying patient)

Well thank you :) I know I am too, but your post reminds me of a conversation I had with a former co-worker at my old job. He asked me how I like working with almost all women compared to all men. I told him that the scenery was much better :coollook:

Whats the turn-off with female nurses and MDs?

Whats the turn-off with female nurses and MDs?

I'm turned off of male MDs and nurses most of the time because I've found that they can't think out of the box.

You must have met my first wife! :rotfl:

No I married one 30 yrs ago, who is also a true redhead

why fantasize about others when you have perfection

People always seem to catch me at my worst! LOL...a bunch of us from the fire / rescue service were out bar hopping last week when a very, very drunk man fell backward in his chair. He hit his head pretty hard and passed out...woke up and started puking like I've never seen before. We were way too drunk to help, but a couple of us were sober enough to make sure he was maintaining his airway and to give him a trash can to throw up in while waiting for EMS. Everyone in the bar knew we were fire / rescue even though we were all 75 miles from home...how can they spot us?

A friend of mine was in Louisiana (we live in Nebraska) on vacation and some lady came up to her asking a bunch of medical questions...how did she know my friend is a doctor?

MY kinda gal, Tom. Another true redhead here......and nurse to boot. How bout that???? :rotfl:

that was great OP!

when I was a student nurse a guy was hitting on me and asking what i did...I told him i was a nursing student. He clutched his chest and said " oh nurse, help nurse!" and then he said..."can you help me?" I looked at him and said "I think you may want to see a doctor for that."

I did something like that once...........a uncle, twice removed.......hahahaha kept wanting a 'head to toe'.......so I gave him one........I said, 'OK, lets go into the bedroom and I'll check you out'. I told him all sorts of things like.....your skin is palor, tugor is very poor, back is excoriated, your ***** looks somewhat necrotic..........." the poor thing looked really sick after that and he never, ever asked again!!!

I certianly wouldn't 'dream' about a nurse. Wouldn't get no action......too darn tired!!!!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:
