Hey guys I have a question.

Unfortunately lol I have come down with jock itch! I assume it is from exercising and wearing my scrubs. My scrubs are a little big from losing weight and the crotch is by my knees sometimes and I think from sweating I have gotten this anyway my question lol What can I use to help clear this up fast? I was using some cream corticoid i think, that I bought at the store but i think it made it worse. I just tonight used medicated powder the gold bond stuff and it cooled it down and stung like a bitc* lol but my boyfriend said to try the spray. I am afraid to use the spray because of my private. I don't want a yeast infection or any other kind of infection in there lol I never had one and don't want one. Now that I have been rambling can someone just give me a good thing to use for a girl! Lol

zinc oxide will treat a regular heat rash in the absence of fungus. it will not help a fungal infection.

and i agree with susanna that i never heard of jock itch under the breasts. i think it should be called breast itch and treat accordingly. and i would strongly advise putting nystatin POWDER on, and not the cream. lamasil is another antifungal.

and tom? hang in there.

hi lisa,

there's nothing written in stone about this but although a cream is easier to apply in terms of coverage, the powder form acts as a barrier to the moisture, which is where fungus thrives in the first place. from my own experience, my pts. have healed faster w/the nystatin powder.

You know, i've been reading this thread and it reminded me of my days in marching band, espcially band camp. which would be in late july and humid and hot.

Wearing clothing that fits is one way to avoid the chafing. Lose clothes or extremely tight clothes will rub your skin raw. Also, stay away from cotton..... it holds sweat and moisture which aids the chafing and the fungus growth. Scrubs that are made of a wicking type thing... like maybe nylon? something that won't hold the moisture but let it evaporate, and dry. Panit liners are good because they pull sweat and moisture away from your skin, i use ALWAYs. but, you have to change them at least once during the day cuz the moisture will build up... which can lead to a yeast or bacterial infection. i stay plagued often with yeast infections.... so i've taken to patting baby powder, and changing my panty liners more often.. to thrawt them. hope this helps! (anti bacterial soap such dial, zest, or, heaven forbid, lye soap will also help)

I guess in some of the cases here, you could say that jock itch was a real bi**ch! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
