Job Opportunity

  1. Thought I'd share this experience with you.
I was standing in a que at a large theme park. My friend was talking to a man standing next to her in line, she told him I was a RN, next thing I know, he offered me a job in the hospital where he works. I asked him if he was in human resources, he said, no, I'm the CFO.
I guess the nursing shortage is in full gear.

That's amazing . Talk about being in the right place at the right time. Did you take him up on his offer? Were you even looking for a new position? How exciting for you congratulations I do hope he's going to make you an offer you can't refuse . God is always on time .

I do hope it's an offer you can't refuse.

Much the same thing happened to me at church. Went to Wednesday night service and during the "greeting time" the man in front of me noticed my jacket with the name of the hospital I work for on the front of it. Told me that I needed to come work for him. I declined and after the service he gave my husband his office phone number and asked my hubby to please try and change my mind about coming to work for him. He wasn't the CEO I think he was just an administrator.

I do the same thing. When I am out and overhear someone talking and find out they are an RN, I always ask them to call me to discuss possible employment opportunity.

Thank you for the support. I love my current job, so I'll stay right where I'm at for now. It was surprising and nice to be offered a position even though I'm not looking to change.

Uhhhhh....feel free to pass my name on to anyone asking you to come work for them. I AM looking as of today!

Ainz, what part of the country are you in?

I wouldn't go work for anyone if the pay is less than $35.00 an hour ever again. Sounds like my next career move may very well be back into the travel nurse market!

Also, he did offer incentives and competitive pay but I didn't find out what they were. He mentioned that he was not able to keep up with WalMart though for pharmicists b/c WalM offers pharmicists a NEW CAR! Can you believe it? I guess if the shortage gets as bad as predicted we will get new cars too?

I've had that happen a time or two at parties, but not by the CEO.

I'm always trying to recuit for my hospital too when I meet nurses. There's a recruiting bonus. But haven't had any luck yet.
