I know its personal but I am just curious, of course you don't have to answer it but for those of you who don't mind, answer please, thanks!

CNA/RN/LPN/PA/APN/fulltime/parttime/casual whatever your profession is, just state it and share :)

emergency nurse practitioner- usually start around 40$hour plus benefits, after 8 years up to 50=

an hour

There are 2080 hours in a "work" year...

So, if you make 40,000/hr...divide 40,000 by 2080 to equal hourly pay

Sue

Divide your yearly salary by 2040 - that'll give you the amount. 2040 is the number of hours you work in a year at 40 hours per week.

Actually, 40 hours/week x 52 weeks = 2080

then you divide your yearly salary by 2080.

About the income investment statements...........the market is so unstable that it is probably safer to go with a more stable investment like gold, silver, real estate and such as that.............seriously.............:crying2:

Your kidding, right? Real estate is probably the worst investment you could make right now, unless you have a lot of disposable income that you don't mind losing for a few years until the RE stabablizes. Gold and silver has been like oil, very volatile with it's ups and downs, especially down for oil. If you have been watching precious commodities for the past few months gold has had it's wide swings of profitability along with silver. People who have most of their 401s in the stock market will just have to wait it out for now because if they try to move it the penalties will wipe out any gain for the past year. I have had 90% of mine in money market accts for years and haven't made much but haven't lost much. The small amount that I have in stocks have taken a beating, especially when I tried to move the money from it into my MM accts. I lost so much because of fees and penalties I just should have left it where it was. It's funny, I watch so much of CNBC and HLN because of the stock market anymore than before. Everyday I check where the DOW is and how oil is doing. Funny how your priorities change as you get closer to retirement.

Here are mine:

My full-time job:

Nursing student in PA 0.00/ hour

My other full-time job:

mother in PA 0.00 / hour

My VERY part-time job (about 15 hours/month):

health center aid at boarding school in NJ 20.00/hour

I don't know why there seems to be such a big secret about salaries. My hospital the RNs are unionized so we all know upfront what the wage rates are for varying years of experience, plus add BSN, MSN (paid very little difference though), Clinical ladder, certification (paid the most at $1.75/hr, longevity and it can add up to another $3.00 per hour at least. I have over 40 years experience as a RN most of it ICU/CCU and my hourly is now without the extras on top at $45.3/hour.

Now, I also live in a very expensive tax area -----central NJ---- my housing value has dropped $50,000 in the last year and my taxes are still over $8000/year for my 30 year old house which has 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, 3/4 acre and supposedly still going up according to the last newspaper articles on my township.
