Headhunters, and recruiters!

I post on this BB as a way to discuss topics that interest me. I DO NOT wish to be contacted via my personal email address, by anyone who is a recruiter, or a headhunter! I find this tactic to be rude, and intrusive!

PLEASE DO NOT contact me concerning any job offers, or anything else, that doesn't have to do with what I posted online! Also don't request me to give you info on anyone else either

I get enough spam email, that I don't want, and I don't need any more, thank you very much!

Brownms46,

Sorry there are some recruiters who will go to any length to get a contact, I find it very tacky and unproffesional for that type of behavior.

I would suggest that you modify your profile so that your e-mail address is not available to the viewing public.

You can modify your profile, by clicking the profile link on most pages on the BB, or you can click this link:

https://allnurses.com/bb/cgi/ubbmisc.cgi?action=editbio&Browser=&DaysPrune=1000&LastLogin=

The last option: Keep your email address viewable to other users when you post notes?

change the setting to "No"

This should help keep these recruiters from sending unsolicited commercial e-mail (SPAM) to you. Hope this helps

Thank you Bshort! I didn't want to resort to this, but after the recent increase in spam, that I have been receiving, I find I had no other choice! It's sad, that some people will go to any length to satisfy their own needs, and the heck with how it affects anyone else! I thank you for taking the time to respond.

Peace OUT!

Some of my best friends are "headhunters and recruiters" ;)

Specializes in Med/Surg, ICU, Cardiac ICU.

I almost had to admire the tenacity of one of the headhunters who recently offered me openings in New Mexico. I told her thanks but no - that as a Nurse Manager I myself am looking for nurses (not by email unless they request follow up). She emailed right back saying they have administrative and management open also!!!!

The only reason I contact people is if they show interest by answering our ads, coming to our student luncheons or calling me.

Specializes in ER.

I also heard from that New Mexico recruiter, and from a travel nurse company. I still want to be available via email to fellow BB posters, so just delete unwanted mail.

Specializes in Everything except surgery.

I'm a very busy person, and I get lots of email d/t my webpage, and forum. I do not want to waste any more time then necessary deleting unwanted mail! I do NOT want to find email that has resulted from my posting to this forum...PERIOD!!! I'm glad to hear, that people have sense enough to not to tick those off, their wish to reach! I have filtered my incoming email, trying to weed out all the unwanted email I can, and now I have removed my email from my profile!

I do recruiting also, BUT...I NEVER EMAIL ANYONE, who didn't place a request to be contacted!!! I don't waste people's time, and DON'T wish to have mine wasted either!!!

Peace out!
