Missed ya last night aimeee. I had planned to stay later myself, but hubby decided he had had enough EQ for the evening and wanted some 'quality time' , and I'm not one to argue bout that. Hope to chat with y'all tonight.

See what you can do with teamwork! Everybody complained because no one was at the chat room, so you got together and made it happen. Good going!!!!

    OH NO.
Out of curiosity, I tried a couple of times to log into the chat room today but have been unsuccessful.....something about a server error ????? Does anyone know what my problem may be, or might it be a system problem? I had hoped to check in for a little while tonight. If I miss y'all, this is the reason why.

    Hi Mary et al.,
Enjoyed chatting with y'all last night, however brief!! One of the few times I have ever chatted, and accidentally cut myself off!!!
Mary, it's neat we live so (relatively) close. Maybe we can get together sometime. Might be a bit difficult; it seems I am either working or sleeping ALL of the time of late (my unit is VERY short--just finished 4 nights in a row, and then they tried to call me in for part of the 5th night!!!) . Regardless, I would love to learn more about your Master's program. I once was in a family nurse practitioner program, but dropped out as it wasn't for me. For one thing, working more than fulltime and graduate school is a hard mix . Another thing, I noticed a lot of the cardiologists are using ADN nurses as their "FNP's" (just don't call them that). Their nurse comes to admit the patient for the doc, writes the orders, initiates the progress note, history and physical, compares initial labs, EKG's, etc . This was quite a startling discovery and very discouraging for me. Why even bother with all the rigorous studies to obtain FNP status, if ADN nurses are able to do essentially the same thing? Another thing, FNP's in my area only make around $60 a year (if they're lucky)--I almost make that much now. FNP workload is ridiculous (followed one around during my practicum for RN-BSN, last semester, so I know). I want to get into a good graduate program, just don't know which one yet.
Well, enough for now. Will talk with you all later.
Also, Nurse KarenRN--your contributions are awesome!!! Learn so much from your posts!!!
