In order to be a Forensic Pathologist, one must be a MD. They have seminars and classes in Forensics all the time and in numerous areas of forensics, but a Forensic Pathologist is a MD and we have 4 that work with us. The field is amazing and always keeps us on our toes! Best regards Mark

:rotfl: Forensic Pathologists are indeed a desired and rewarding field and of course they are MD's with about 14 plus years in education to earn there degrees. Forensic pathology is extremely hard to obtain as it takes so long. Forensic nursing as described in the real world as we see it is basically in a nut shell rape/sexual assault exams. The few and I mean the very very few selected to work in a ME/Coroner's office are not RN's and they certainly would not make the $$ a RN would make. I have been in forensic investigations with one of the largest regional forensic facility's for over 20 years and with CSI and Forensic File tv shows, the interest is certainly having a lot of people call us all the time for work I will be hosting a seminar in the near future and will post information as it becomes available on Forensic Investigations including a lecture from one of our local Forensic RN's. I plan to have topics from basic death investigation to DNA, toxicology, crime scene processing and many others.
