Does anyone know any good online RN to BSN programs?

I am looking to start an RN to BSN program that is inexpensive, completely online and that I can complete within one year. I have a bachelors degree in another feild in addition to my ASN, so I am sick of school, but realize that I need my BSN to stay competetive in this area. Does anyone know of any programs that meet this criteria? Of course the program would need to be acredited also.

I have been looking around myself, for the same reasons. So far I am leaning towards - an online school c reasonable tuition, and allows you to do as much as can within the semester, rather than being limited to the curriculum only offered that semester. I would like to do the RN to BSN online program at my alma mater, but it is crazy expensive. Truth be told, does HR really care what school your BSN is from, probably not, but that you did receive a BSN from a credentialed school.

You might check your local university. A lot of them offer online RN to BSN programs now. That is how I got mine. I finished in two semesters.

Jacksonville State University is a great program. I liked the fact that it is a real brick and mortar University...accredited. It only took me 3 semesters and it was completely online...no clinicals and totally affordable. The instructors there were wonderful and very supportive. I wanted to continue there for my MSN, but they don't have an NP program. Good luck!

I do not know where you are located, but i finish up at Jacksonville State University in December of this year. The program is very resonably priced. I went for three semesters and paid a total of about 7800. The instructors are great. This program worked really well for me because I live in California and was never required to come to campus. All assignments are completed on line, and you can enter it even if you have some outstanding prerequisites(the most that they will allow is 2 outstanding pre req's). The only thing is that you will have to take the English Competency Exam, unless you already have an undergraduate degree. It is a simple essay that you have to write. You can either go to campus and complete it or have it proctored by someone where you reside, which is what I did. You have to pass it though, as it is a requirement for you to graduate from the school, however the admission counselors can discuss this with you in more detail

i checked out jacksonville on their website and it looks like a great program. I do already have a bachelor's degree in another field. I am leaning toward their program. Did you get a student loan or did you pay out of pocket? I am wondering what the payment arrangements will be like and how soon i will be able to start. I think i will go ahead and contact an admissions counselor. Thanks for your help!

Chamberlain college of Nursing is an excellent school. The semesters are broken into two terms of 8 weeks. I am taking 2 nursing classes this term, then next 8 weeks I will take 3 nursing classes. After that, I will have to take a capstone nursing class and one elective and I will be done. I started in October 2009 and will be done in February 2010. Note that if you choose to do Chamberlain it is very expensive as 2 classes were like $4000. Make sure you take classes like statistics, english 1 & 2, and a high level sociology at a cheap school so you can save a lot of money. The work is hard but reasonable. You automaticaly get 80 credits for you RN license and yes the school is accredited.

You can enter the program in the spring, summer, or fall semester. I started in the spring semester. It was a simple process. I did not apply until around the end of november or early december and still got in in the spring semester. Because I started at the last minute I got a loan for the first semester, however i paid out of pocket for the summer and fall semester. They do have a payment plan system if you decide that you would like to pay over time. Tammy Johnson is the admission coordinator for the program and she is very helpful. ^ i wish they had a program like this in california i already ahve a Bachelors in a different field and i went to get into nursing..
