    ???????

You will work either 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts. Full time for 8s is 10 days out of 14, 10s is 8 out of 14, and 12s is 6. Do you intend to work 24/7?

I work three 12/hr shifts per week and usually get them straight in a row. That gives me four days a week to do whatever else I want to do. But since I work nights, it really only gives me three days because the day after my last shift, I sleep that day and still feel tired that night. The first day of my run of night shifts, I don't usually do much because I have to fit a nap in sometime so I can stay up all night working and I have to start getting ready for work around 5:30 p.m.

But yes, I do still find time for fun outside of work.

Perhaps you should amend your question to let everyone know that you only want to hear from young nurses.

Hi there - hope our membership is able to help you answer your question. However, I'm sure you realize that unless you specify that you only want to hear from "young nurses", you will get the whole gamut. Also, what age groups would you perceive as "young?"

    scary! and sad.

I guess us old gals don't have any experience with "fun".

You gotta be kidding! I saw a lot of the young nurses going out after work and then dragging themselves in the next day! Just don't do illegal drugs or get caught with them. That's about as stupid a thing as nurse with a license can do. Convictions for drug use or possession will make it difficult for you to get jobs because almost all employers will run criminal checks these days.

You are worried about "fatigue" from nursing at 21????? Before going back to school my routine was to work 3-4 consecutive 12 hour shifts a week and solid partying afterwards. Most of the younger guys I worked with followed this routine. Only old people are allowed to get this... "fatigue".
