Unless your state BON specifies otherwise, you don't need to send the CEU certificate. However, be sure to hold onto that certificate for at least 4-7 years in case they decide to audit you.

I'm an Ohioan too... just like Meriwhen said, you just need to make sure you hold on to that CEU certificate for I think 7 years... CEU's are basically an honor system until you get audited, which I think they can go back 6 or 7 years, and you better have all your CEU certificates for them! Did you remember your law CEU too??

I'm licensed in OH and FL. This is the year for FL renewal. Ohio's is next year, isn't it?

No, Ohio's renewal was this year. I think you had to be renewed by July 31.

If Ohio is like my state, RNs and LPNs may not renew in the same year. I have to renew my RN license by my birthday in even years but LPNs renew in odd years here.

I'm in Indiana and while I think CE should be required for nurses, and I will absolutely be doing CE regularly for myself, having to deal with keeping records and deal with all of that makes me glad CE is not required here. Again, I think it should be but I don't mind not having to deal with paperwork.

I would just print out your certificate and save it. I keep mine paperclipped together by year just in case. My work offers a lot of educational meetings and we get CEUs at the end, usually, so getting CEUs isn't terribly difficult.
