i went to see u2 last night and bono dedicated a song, miracle drug, from their new album to everyone in the medical field. he said, "our doctors, our nurses, everyone. while this is for the doctors, it's especially to the ones that work the hardest, our nurses."

everyone cheered and it was just a good feeling. although i am just a nursing student, i yelled my heart out for all of you that are working the hardest- our nurses. :yelclap:

See, this just makes him more perfect!

Yay! :yelclap:

Bono is the greatest. I would have loved to see them this year on tour. Bono is truly someone I look up to. I have been the biggest U2 fan for all 29 years of their career. He is the man!! His spirit is amazing. I have been in love with him since I was a young girl. I couldn't even get ticket to this concert they sold out in L.A. so fast. He appreciates the people of this world. I Love Him

My opinion is the same as for those singers that feel their status gives them the right to have a holier than thou political opinion:

Shut up and sing!

(Thank you Laura Ingraham for that quote.)

Sorry if that sounds negative - but my self esteem and self worth isn't dependent upon bones thrown to me by professional singers.

Bono may be a singer, but he is also in a class nearly by himself when it comes to politics and social involvement. He seems to be more involved in charity work, be it here(Katrina victims) in Ireland or abroad (recently Africa). Now when Britinney Spears endorsed the president I did the big eye roll. Bono recently went to the whitehouse and I saw that way differently, as he really does understand politics and he truly cares, or at least his actions say he does. Go Bono. Praise from someone like him, regardless of his day job, is appreciated by this nurse.

Oops, double post

I love Bono too. He's much more well-rounded than so many other rock stars. It's nice to be recognized by anyone, famous or not :kiss

I saw him in '92 when I was 15. Greatest live show I ever saw:smokin:

I couldn't agree more. I think people should use their voice and he certainly has, for a variety of causes I believe in. How could anyone be faulted for bringing attention to problems like HIV and poverty? Thanks to him, I called the prime minister's office about foreign aid.:roll
