anyone know about magic mix?

hi, I'm a CNA and just got a job at a local nursing home. Our skin treatments range from A and D ointment, lotion, and zinc oxide. But for some of the residents they use magic mix and the nurse has to put it on. Does anyone know what that is or why it is used? Just real curious.

I am guessing it is a combo nystatin cream and some other med(s) but it is just a guess.

I've heard of Magic Mouthwash which is used for patients with mouth sores. It's a combo of Benedryl and Mylanta and you swish and spit. I've used it myself for canker sores and it does work!

I've heard of the Magic Mouthwash before.

We've refered to Greer's Goo (nystatin and zinc oxide mixed) as Lifesaver before.

Magic mouthwash around here also has carafate in it.

The hospital pharmacy makes up the Magic Mix, Maalox. Benadryl and some sort of Lidocaine type substance. Never seen it on decubs but used as a mouth rinse and occasionally applied to irritated g or j tube insertion sites.

I don't know who came up with the lidocaine mixture, but it's a wonderful thing! Some of these decubes are so painful to just even LOOK at, they're so raw.

At the hospital I work at, we call it Magic Butt Cream. It is a mixture of Nystatin powder, zinc oxide, and Benadryl cream.

Works wonders at healing up excoriation.

The only thing I know of that is an (under the table) butt creme mix is something done at our facility. It is Baza , Dermamed , and zinc oxide. Some nurses throw in Eucerine or EPC allthough I'm not sure why, they probly think more is better. :)
