Hello all,

I'm starting this thread for the new applicants for the hrsa nursing scholarship 09-10. Tor prettylady, I think its a random selection. Its the luck of the draw.

I was in your same situation. The problem was I had no Co signers at all. All the lenders told me that I needed one. Then a friend told me about Wells Fargo MedCap loan. Call them don't fill out the application online(filling it out online was confusing.) Its geared toward students in the the health professions. Since you are starting in the accelerated program tell them that you are a junior. I'm so thankful I heard about this loan because if it wasn't for them I would not be starting this semester!

No matter what happens just remember that if its God's will you'll go, if not he will bring about better opportunities for you.

angelp71, your right... I guess it would be wise to go along as if I was starting the program in the fall because something could come through for me at the last moment..

nothing yet...except the hit on my credit like some other people.

this is probably worst than waiting for the acceptance letters..

me either! credit check has been the only change. did everyone else get the hit? Hopefully we'll find out soon. :)

how are you all checking for the credit check 'hit'?

It's not actually a hit..just an inquiry. Its listed on your credit report under Inquires with other credit checks from credit cards or car loans etc. It shows up all caps HRSA along with other letters, which I don't recall right now.

The "letters" that will show up on your credit report inquiry are... DHHS PHS HRSA BHPR*

My comments section said this...

Comments:

Government direct unsecured loan. This inquiry is scheduled to continue on record until Aug 2011.

My credit was checked on July 7th... & Aug 2011 is my expected graduation date. Wonder what this all means? Did anyone else get a similar comment???

I got all excited when I saw your post, so I went and looked at my credit check again, and mine says the exact same thing, with the exact same end date. BUT, all the other credit checks say "This inquiry is scheduled to continue on record until" and then some date. Sooooo, I think that may only mean the date at which this check will fall off of your credit report. My expected graduation date is December 2010 so I bet it is a coincidence that the date is the same as your graduation date. My credit was checked on July 2nd by the way. This waiting sucks!!!!!:down:

Oh okay... Since some of the other companies that have made inquiries didn't leave anything in the comments section, I wasn't sure... But that makes a lot of sense. Hell, I'm just glad I made it to the "credit check pile..." I'm super ready for my "Yes" or "No" from HRSA... I'm growing tired of checking my email a gazillion times a day! :)
