UF Accelerated BSN Fall 2012

I am an undergraduate student at UCF right now and will soon be graduating with my degree in Psychology. I am applying to UF's accelerated BSN program for Fall 2012.

My first year of college was brutal!:mad: My first semester I made 4 Cs and 1 D. My second semester I made 2 Cs and 3 Fs. I had to retake the 3 classes I failed over the summer and I made 3 Cs. So... it has completely ruined my GPA. It seems like no matter how many As I make it barely brings it up.

But, thankfully UF only considers your most RECENT 60 credit hours towards your GPA. This is so great because my overall GPA is only a 2.6, but by the time I'm done taking classes my most recent 60 credit hours GPA will be around a 3.7-3.8.

Is anyone else suffering from a year of bad grades like me?

I wish every other school only considered your most recent 60 credit hours. UF seems like my only real hope to be accepted, but at the same time it's UF... not the easiest school to get into.

According to Ken we will hear about the decisions VERY VERY VERY soon! Three verys! AHHHHH!!! IM SOOOO NERVOUS :eek:

So does anyone know someone who is in the program? It's surprisingly hard to find any opinions from graduates online.. I'd like to know if people enjoy the program, feel prepared, etc. trying hard to weigh out UNF vs UF- I guess we'll see if that is a choice I'll have or not. I feel like UNF has a great program, but I don't know that much about UF's?

@seaglassgreen- I am in the same boat as you, got into UNF and am awaiting my decision for UF's program, hopefully before I have to make my decision on Monday. I emailed Ken this morning and asked if we would possibly know before the 26th and will let you know what he says! I also don't know much about feedback from UF's current students in the program. The group interview at UNF and meeting some of the students there really opened my eyes to what they have to offer.

I know a few people that went through the program, I shadowed one nurse at shands that did the program in 2009 and I know someone else that graduated last year and just started working at shands. They say about it what you would expect, it was hard at the time, but looking back they understand that it was a good program. If you have a specific question I could ask them for you, or its likely I have asked them myself already and could answer it.

The email he sent to me today said that "letters will be going out by this Friday." I hope that means before then so they get to us before the 26th!

Wow! I can't believe we will hopefully hear back this week. I'm anxious and nervous but trying to not worry about it too much. UF is the only ABSN program I applied to. Like several of you have mentioned, I am not sure if my GRE scores were good enough but I'm hoping my GPA and work experience will even things out. GOOD LUCK to everyone!!! Try and stay positive

Ahhh Im soooo excited I find it crazy that they already know whether we are in or not. I've been waiting two years for this moment and it's soooooo close now. :yelclap:

better check your address under myufl... it will probably get sent to your permanent or home address...
