UF Accelerated BSN Fall 2012

U.S.A. Florida

Published

HI:)

I am an undergraduate student at UCF right now and will soon be graduating with my degree in Psychology. I am applying to UF's accelerated BSN program for Fall 2012.

My first year of college was brutal! My first semester I made 4 Cs and 1 D. My second semester I made 2 Cs and 3 Fs. I had to retake the 3 classes I failed over the summer and I made 3 Cs. So... it has completely ruined my GPA. It seems like no matter how many As I make it barely brings it up.

But, thankfully UF only considers your most RECENT 60 credit hours towards your GPA. This is so great because my overall GPA is only a 2.6, but by the time I'm done taking classes my most recent 60 credit hours GPA will be around a 3.7-3.8.

Is anyone else suffering from a year of bad grades like me?

I wish every other school only considered your most recent 60 credit hours. UF seems like my only real hope to be accepted, but at the same time it's UF... not the easiest school to get into.

This is really exciting! I am super nervous now... hopefully good news awaits!

omygosh i checked the mail today and i saw a whit envelope and my stomach jumped ...i am way too affected and vulnerable to this

I think I will finally meet the mailman this week because I will be glued to my mailbox. ah!

I haven't posted in a while, but I still check all nurses everyday and see what you guys have posted and everyone's stats. I had to post this time because I AM SOO EXCITED we will hear from UF by the 26. Thats crazy!!!!!!!! Thanks for the update. Hopefully we hear from them this Friday! Just be fair my stats are: GPA: 4.0 upper division, 3.67 overall, GRE:150 verbal, 148 math. Hopefully, my GPA balances out my low GRE score.

GOOD LUCK to everyone :yelclap:

Hey everyone! I have been a long time lurker of this thread and site in general. Now that we are so close to getting our letters I think it is finally time I post something! Lol Here are my stats: 3.88 upper level GPA 3.62 overall 154 verbal 151 quantitative on the GRE. I also have my CNA lisence. I worked in an assisted living facility as a CNA/med tech for 8 months before having to leave for a full time internship. Hopefully all of that is enough to get a YES! Good luck to everyone! :)

I don't think my GRE scores are going to be competitive enough. I wish I had time to take it again before I applied. Oh well, you never know. There's always next year. I'm just nervous to get a letter already!!

Does anyone know how many people they accept to the program? and how many people apply?

Well mail came - no letter today :( Maybe by Thursday......

Does anyone know how many people they accept to the program? and how many people apply?

I don't know about UF specifically, but I know most Accelerated programs are around 25-30 with hundreds of applications.

UNF accepted 27 and had 550 total applicants (for both tracks)

I thought UF admitted 50 or 60 but I may be wrong.

You could be totally right! I was just going off of other nursing programs

I guess we will find out eventually :)
