UF Accelerated BSN, Summer 2018

U.S.A. Florida

Hi all!

It's pretty early on but I'd love to meet and chat with the potential applicants for this program. I also think it'd be great to have this forum in case we stumble upon application questions and such. Maybe some successful applicants in the past may pop in to say hello as well!

What are your feelings about this program or even UF in general? Are you applying to other programs? Where are you from?

Hey guys nevermind, I figured it out it's on the last page.

Is the program only being offered in Gainesville? I don't see the no preference option.. unless it appears later on..?

When you get to the questions tab, it asks you a preference right after it asks for your UF student ID.

For the transcript/class section of the app, am I going to have to put in every single class I've taken or just the prereqs? It's not super clear. Please tell me just the prereqs lol

Edit: Nevermind. Later on it says only for prereqs.

Though now I'm seeing this student assessment that costs $65?

Yeah and it says people who are eligible will be given instructions about the assessment, does that mean they will email us or..? I'm probably going to get an appointment with him to ask my questions and I will keep you all informed as well!

I keep checking also. It will show up when the Future Programs is turned on so hopefully it's coming soon!

This may be a tad dramatic but, has anyone mailed in the supplemental post-bacc application with their check yet? I'm debating on holding off because of the hurricane disrupting any mail and I will be mailing my application from Texas. I can't imagine it taking forever to get there but I think I'm just being impatient. :) It's a hurry up and wait game.

That's a good question. As we learned earlier, this part of the application is more of a "recommendation" from the UF undergrad admissions. I think it would be smart to hold off until the end of next week due to the hurricanes. It took mine a little over a month to get in though, so I would definitely submit it by the end of the week so that you get it in before the deadline. :)

Do you happen to know if not having a preference between jacksonville and gainesville may increase your odds?

I just know that there's more people in Gainesville and a little lesser in Jax. I'm putting no preference (I want to) because that way I could possibly get in one either on rather if I chose a specific one and I didn't get in then I wouldn't be able to try the other location either.

I read on another thread that someone checked one campus but was invited to another so I'm not sure it is a make or break factor but for me I personally have no preference. I had the college town experience already, while some might value that a little more so they might prefer Gainesville. I know my husband would prefer Gainesville because he loves "the swamp" and always wanted to go to UF. So, maybe I prefer one over the over just slightly more but I dont think it would matter too much. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

That's my thinking too on this. I don't really have a preference since I'm not familiar with either areas! (HAHA)

Hey guys!

How are you obtaining/ uploading your unofficial transcripts? I've never worked with my unofficials before so I'm a little confused on how I should go about this? Do you download them from "Florida Virtual Campus" and just upload it for all schools? :(

I've only had my official transcripts sent to NursingCAS until now. I know that on the Academic History portion you literally have to go through and add every singe course taken, what semester, grade, etc. Apparently each school is different about unofficial versus official transcript but now I see what your talking about on uploading. I just tried and it seemed to work for me.
