I have been looking to see if there are any threads about this already so I apologize if this is a double post!

Anyone apply for spring 2012 at St Petersburg College?

Congrats runninggal see you at orientation! Good luck to all alternates and others who didn't make it this time.. Complete all those classes and you'll get it for sure! :)

Yes see you there!

Finally.....it happened... I GOT ACCEPTED!!!

So I got my email today (on my SPC email). I start the AS Nursing program Jan 2012. I have all classes complete with a 3.666 gpa! good luck everyone!!! : )

Congrats!!!! :)

That's realy awesome for those who have gotten in; I was denied yet again so I'm heading for an LPN program. Early on I took a C and now it has bit me in the end...I'm not giving up on my dreams--keeping my eye on the prize!! Good luck to all..I wish you all the best!!

Do it. I was denied at HCC and cried when I got my denial letter. I then applied for Ptec Lpn program and got in first try. I loved it. I was able to make some life long friends but more important I can call myself a nurse. :redpinkhe It is the best.

I also learned so much.. You get soooo much hands on learning at Ptec and I am sure other LPN programs. The RN students who we talked to were floored about the amount of hours we spent in clinicals. I really wish I could have gone about getting my Rn degree faster but I am very happy to have the experience I have. I do not think I am a better nurse because of it but I think I am less nervous about preforming some of the procedures we did weekly to daily in clinicals. I think it is a great way to going about finding your dream. Good luck. If you ever want to talk pm me.

P.S I am also a mom of 4 and I it sets such a great example to them that mom can learn and somewhat run a house.

I received my email today...as expected, I wasn't accepted as I'm still taking Micro and Stats. Congrats to everyone who have been accepted!!!

Here are the stats that were included in the email:

The applicant pool consisted of four hundred ninety nine applicants and was very competitive. The average grade point average for those selected was a 3.77 which includes an average of 29.6 of the 30 general education and support course credits from the nursing curriculum completed.

Whoo Hooo Congrats!! Best of luck on your new adventure. :yeah:

Hi all.

I got my acceptance letter yesterday. :D Came in my school email. I had to read it a couple of times before I realized what it was.

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting. For those who got turned down - keep trying. Don't give up! :-)

Congrats! I wish you the best of luck too! :)

3.56, Selected as an alternate :( . Good luck to everyone

3.56, Selected as an alternate :( . Good luck to everyone

Don't get down. You might get in. If any of the seats were taken by USF students or HCC then you have a good chance. Good luck to you!

Gators--so sorry, just got your PM today. I dont know how to write you back though! LOL....anyways, as my update...i got my rejection letter from SPC. :( Guess my 3.61 did not suffice. I haven't heard back from any other school yet. luckily, my gpa for all the other schools is a 3.77 so, hopefully that will put me over the edge! has anyone applied to PHCC's RN program for Jan??? or State College of Florida???

Specializes in OB/GYN.

I applied for the January LPN to RN and I haven't gotten anything in my SPC email yet. Is anyone else who applied to LPN to RN still waiting? I applied 8/31 which I guess is a little late and I am currently enrolled in stats and micro. Maybe I am just getting impatient because I just read that a lot of you received your emails already!

selected as an alternate too! 3.64 w/all my prerequisites done. Has anyone heard when the orientation is? I got a letter yesterday saying they will send the letter through spc e-mail but I haven't received anything yet. I hope enough of the "chosen ones" decided to go elsewhere! ;)

Hi there. The orientation is Oct 19. Hope that helps :-)

Thanks runninggal! I don't know if the alternates go to the orientation or if there's a separate meeting so I'll call the school to find out and post back for all the other alternates : ) Thanks again!!
