PHSC 2015 Nursing Hopefuls

U.S.A. Florida

Hey everyone!

I found one topic on this, but it wasn't very active, so I hope this one becomes a little more successful. My name is Jennifer, and I am applying for the January 2015 Nursing Program at PHSC. My home campus is Porter at Wiregrass Ranch. Are there any other 2015 hopefuls? I'd like to get to know you all! I am taking my TEAS next Tuesday and am so nervous. This will be my first time taking the TEAS. Have any of you taken it? How was it?

Any tips? I have finished all me pre-reqs and finished with a 3.6. Not too bad, wish I would have got higher! Hope I get in! Good luck to all you ladies!

Thanks!

They pick the highest students based on the composite scores. So top 36 or however many for the transition program get in.. I'm applying to both as well for transition..only thing is this year is we are not only going against the LPNS but paramedics too... great for them but more competition for us.

The LPN transition actually takes 72 total, that's 36 at both the North Campus and West Campus. I'm not exactly positive, but I'm pretty sure the paramedic transition program is different from the LPN. They take 24 students and their classes begin before the LPN classes, so I don't think that interferes with the number of accepted LPN applicants (hopefully). I am going to call tomorrow anyway, just to be sure.

And you only have to apply once, they decide where to place you. Usually its determined by where you live, but sometimes people get placed at the campus further away. I have heard from students in the program this year that once everybody is selected, you are given the opportunity to switch locations with others.

I was actually told by West Campus today that it is 24 seats this year per campus... I thought it was 36 but she said no. The lady at West campus told me as of today there are over 50 applications and only 48 seats available

Kma510, when you call tomorrow will you let us know ? í ½í¸Š

Then that must be the paramedics... they must split 12 to each campus and that's why there is only 24 at each campus í ½í¸•. Yes, I will let you know when I call tomorrow.

I'm just very confused ! Lol... My friend just told me there is 36 seats per campus (North and West) but she also said the Paramedics are every other year and this year is possibly the year we must compete with them.

How many spots are available for the generic RN program? One of the admission staff told me that east/west were combined and that it was not two seperate programs and that we would be floating between the two campuses?? Any truth behind this?

Anyone know when the cut off was last year... i know they got their letters around July 1st so trying to figure when we'd maybe get ours :-)

This is what the site says... The ADN/LPN Transition limited access program admits up to 36 students in August on the North Campus in*Brooksville*and West Campus in*New Port Richey... also says 24 paramedics will be admitted to NPR campus ...

I've never heard of anyone going back and forth between campuses and they didn't say that to me when I applied so not sure about that?

Thanks MR 14 and kma510 for the info... i should of read before I messaged the above info ;-)
