Hello everyone!
Just curious of how many have applied for the residency program offered at FH in Orlando July/Aug 2014.
What interests did you pick? When did you applied?
I have applied May 15th and May 22nd received an email saying that my app is 'under initial review'..my top picks: ICU, NICU, ER...what about you?
I know how tough it is (havent been on this side that long) lol. Phone interviews can actually be a blessing (you can put yourself in a place you feel more relaxed and no one can actually see how nervous you are) but keep in mind they also do in person interviews. Just brush up on knowledge of the department you get chosen to interview with (ie if cardiac -brush up on EKGs and most common cardiac illnesses) and think about clinical experiences that youve learned from and can apply once hired! Read about the facility and what they are proud of and their mission statements.
Did you end up moving to Orlando? How do you like it there? I am considering moving to Florida once I find a nurse residency program that will accept ADN. I think most of them start in January so that would give me time to figure things out as far as place to live, etc... Of course I would have to actually be offered a job first! I just keep praying that it will happen soon!

@Deepbreath I honestly believe it has a lot to do with timing. I had applied to other positions outside of the GN program and my rejection email informed of the date when the GN program was going to open. I applied on the first day! Also, it is a lengthy process so patience is necessary. :)
