2014 UF Accelerated BSN Applicants

U.S.A. Florida

Hey y'all! Who's applying to UF's ABSN program? Go Gators! :)

I have a bachelors and a masters from UF and mine only says my last degree. I wish there was an indication, I'm sure everyone is as anxious as I am- I'm having dreams at night about it haha. 300 isn't that many applications and I heard that a lot of them get thrown out due to not meeting the requirements of pre reqs, so they could potentially be looking at less.

I just hope they don't take the GRE scores as a top priority because that is my only worry. I got a higher score than required in math, but I literally got 3 points below the required on vocab. I hope they wouldn't eliminate me for something so tedious like that.

Didn't you apply last year as well GatorLove? I think I remember your posting something about that. If that's the case, I could only imagine how anxious you are about this process! You will get in this time...:)! I'm optimistic that we will all get in!

If someone were to want to check on the status of the application review process, would Mr. Foote be the contact?

same here deejgator. I got one point less than the minimum on vocab and a good math score :/ hope that doesn't eliminate us :(

That makes three of us kmcnally and Deejgator. I scored below on the verbal and didn't have time to retake the GRE before the deadline. I asked Mr.Foote before I applied if my app would be disqualified for this because if it would, I wasn't wasting my time, $ or nerves applying. Here was his response:

"Your application to the program will not be automatically disqualified as long as we have a complete application package for the program"

Hmm, well I really hope that we all get in. I'm glad I'm not the only one in that predicament. When I saw last year's thread and everyone was saying their average scores...it had me kind of worried. I didn't want to spend more $$ and possibly do worse when my scores were sooo close to what was needed.

@Ali yes Mr. Foote would be the person to contact for any status regarding to nursing.

Hey guys! I'm a forum follower too! haha I am super anxious/excited to hopefully find out next week!! After speaking with Mr. Foote last week, it seems like letters are definitely going out on the 28th or 1st (which is odd since that's a saturday). I also received my Bachelors from UF 2 years ago and I dont really see anything on ISIS besides the usual holds :/

I was just wondering what areas/majors everyone did for their Bachelors/Masters? My bachelors was in Sociology with Food Science concentration so I feel like my degree couldn't be any more different from the nursing field haha

Ali10 what was his response?

TLGator I was an Environmental Science and Geography major and did sustainability studies and climatology and meteorology. Lots of weather! ;)

Thanks Dee and I thought the same thing about the avg scores. A lot of schools are putting less weight on these standardized scores and are looking at the overall performance of the applicant.

This is the most social networking I've ever done in my life! LOL...I need to get some work done because I don't plan on having this job as of May when we start the program!!! :nurse:

Rearding the app status or the GRE scores?

@TLGator, I'm currently in Health Education & Behavior...kind of related but not really.

I'm glad there are so many responses today! I intern at the Burn Unit at Shands and it's a very slow day lol

Ali10 in regards to the GRE

I took the old test awhile back and got less than 500 on the vocab but over 500 on math so my overall was over 1000 but I called and he said it has to be at least 500 on each section doesn't matter if it's over 1000 so I had to retake the new one and got one point less than the min on vocab.

I wanted to know what he said about that.

I think I have a great essay, references, bachelors degree and work experience so I hope that helps :)
