Hi all...Well, it has been 45 days and I am about to re-take my test next week...I am scared...I have be utilizing the kaplan stuff...question trainer...etc...I feel I can look at the questions differently now...even though my scores have all been in the 50's  ...any advice will help...I am going to relax this time and be prepared to take all 265 questions...I think last time I freak when it went past 75, by the time I got to 265 I was frazzled :crying2: Well, wish me luck....I want to get back on here and be having a hatparty like all of you that have passed....pray for a hatparty :balloons:

Hi nursy2b- The Kaplan strategies really helped me. What also helped was the fact that they had 100 question, 150 question, 200 question etc. tests so that if you practice taking the tests you don't panic as much if you go past 75 on the actual NCLEX (as I did....I remember looking down and seeing 76 and reminding myself that I had been practicing doing over 75 questions at a time. I believe I had only about 10 more questions when the computer shut off....I had stopped looking at the number and focused on the question). I also used other question trainers in other books besides Kaplan and that seemed to help. Everyday I tried to do 100 questions to practice. Another thing that helped me is that I relaxed the day before instead of studying.......

first of all, try to relax. i know that is so much easier said than done, but try some deep breathing. i passed a week ago and looking back on it, i think kaplan is the best preparation. most of us have the knowledge, we just need testing strategies and that is what kaplan tries to give. so just keeping doing the questions with kaplan and i believe that you will do well. during your test, remember to deep breath occasionally so that you release some of that stress that seems to build up on test day....good luck!!!!

Just remember... relax and deep breaths. You made it into your schools nursing program (big deal).. through all your classes (BIG deal!)... proved yourself at clinicals (VERY big deal).... this is just the icing on the cake. :)

I wish you well.

Don't be scared. You've been through this once. You already know what's coming your way. Remember don't freak out!!!! Mild anxiety enhances learning. Just don't go into PANIC mode. I am 100% confident that you will do well. Just make sure you have that confidence too.

Good Luck! God Bless you too!
