please.... positive thoughts needed...I am re-taking the RN next week
first of all, try to relax. i know that is so much easier said than done, but try some deep breathing. i passed a week ago and looking back on it, i think kaplan is the best preparation. most of us have the knowledge, we just need testing strategies and that is what kaplan tries to give. so just keeping doing the questions with kaplan and i believe that you will do well. during your test, remember to deep breath occasionally so that you release some of that stress that seems to build up on test day....good luck!!!!

I passed!!
Thanks everyone. And angela05, it was the NCLEX that I took. It shut off at 75 questions. Most were prioritizing, delegation, some meds like antibiotics, cardiac drugs, and pain meds. Most of the drugs were drugs that you probably know anyway so I didn't have any that were just totally unfamiliar...maybe I just lucked up. If I were you I would also make sure to review major disorders such as diabetes, copd, chf. I hope that helps. I apologize about not responding earlier....For the first two weeks of my orientation I have to work 40 hr weeks. Good luck on your studying!!!!

I passed!!
yeah!!!! i passed!!! :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: immediately after i passed, my family and i packed up and went to miami so that is why i didn't announce this earlier. i got back sunday night and went to hospital orientation on monday. i started on a cardiac step-down unit and everyone seems pretty happy to have new grads there. frankly though, i look forward to transferring to the cvicu where i did clinicals while in school... i think i prefer that over this unit. but i am happy nevertheless!!:)

Took NCLEX today...
i took the nclex today and it shut off at 75. so, as you guys know, either i did very well or very bad. i am trying to think positive thoughts. for some reason, even though the test is over, i still can't truly relax. i think this has to be the worst torture ever invented. well, i have to study some meds for a medication test on tomorrow so maybe that will keep my mind occupied. i start my new job on july 19th and i sure hope i can tell them i passed.....

college park?
I know firsthand that there are quite a few upscale subdivisions on the southside but these are in the Lithonia or Snellville area. So, although I know the northside has attractive living areas so does the south. The average home can spand from a small ranch style home to the mid $400,000s. Just didn't want you to get the impression that there is nothing in the southside of Atlanta.

NCLEX Wed-can't sleep-need positive thoughts
Good luck to you. You will do just fine. I take the NCLEX tomorrow and I'm having trouble relaxing myself. I did well in school with mostly A's and some B's but I keep thinking about the what ifs.... So, I'm going to try my best to relax and I wish you well.:)

Telemetry staff ratios
Well, I take the NCLEX in a few days and will be starting on a telemetry unit. I was told to expect 3-4 patients in the day and 6-8 patients at night. We will have techs and a secretary on days and nights. The unit I'm working on is considered an unofficial "step-down" unit from what I'm told. Hope this helps you some....:)

Need help with Multiple Sclerosis
I'm sorry about your situation. But like the others said, everyone is different. My mother was diagnosed when she was 20 years old and she is now 56. She had long periods of "remission" and then harder and harder bouts of exacerbations. However, she is still able to take care of herself and remain independent. She has the relapsing-remitting type. My cousin also has it and he became unable to care for himself within one year. For some unknown reason with this disease, even people with the same type of MS may have a different course. I would focus on a healthy diet, one that is high in fiber, veggies, fruits, and water because as time goes on, people with MS may begin to have bowel problems. I would also focus on seeing the "bright side" of things since people with MS tend to get worse symptoms after crises. I am no expert but maybe these suggestions will help you guys out some. God bless you guys and realize that many things that happen in your life serve to make you stronger.
