Does anyone like their job?

Nurses New Nurse

I see so many posts that say "I hate my job, etc". Does anyone here actually enjoy their job? LOL

Atleast I love my job. Even beasting out 48-52 hours a week I love it.

Specializes in L&D, infusion, urology.
I love being a nurse...sometimes that is better than liking a job. ;)

Oh, but there are jobs that make even the most die-hard among us hate being a nurse. My SNF job made me feel that way. It was horrible.

I had no intention of being an infusion or wellness fair nurse, but these kinds of jobs make me feel the way you described.

I love my job, though I know I'm starting to grow complacent. It's not that I'm not learning (of course, there are always more things to learn), but after you get a handle on things, the days can feel a little monotonous.

Specializes in Forensic Psych.

On average, I'd say I like my job.

Some days I hate it. Some days I love it. But overall, I'm happy, and I feel lucky that I can say that.

I'm kinda meh on my job because they made me do med-surg for a year and I really, really did not want to. I spent years as a tech and knew the med surg unit well and badly wanted to go into a speciality. I'm grateful to have a job but frustrated that I got put somewhere I very much did not want to be and will need to go through the awkward process of trying to transfer into another unit as soon as possible, not to mention worrying about getting "stuck".

What a Breathe of fresh air! lol Some day I hope to be like all of you truly loving my job! sigh someday.

I love my job! I worked 3 months in psych but then lucked out into a hospice unit at the VA. I feel like I won the lottery on new-grad-nurse jobs. Awesome, supportive coworkers & a wonderful floor to work on. Never even considered hospice when I was in school and was terrified to go into it. But I love it.
