i have to ask. i have gotten c's in all my science courses :imbar , mind you i got a's in math and pre-nursing classes :D . i want to know that c students could make it through, and graduate, and pass the nclex! please tell me some of you are not straight a students.......... :chair: i am completely done with all my pre-reqs, and i am just w a i t i n g .......

any encouragement, hope for me??? thanks, heather

I got all A's and B's in pre-req's and straight A's in EVERY nursing course. Guess what? I still suck at IV's 5 years after graduating!(Well, I am not that bad, but I wish I were better). The grades don't reflect the nurse.

I really have to agree here. I am a RN student in Virginia and am recieving B's and C's. I am totally upet as all of my pre'req's were A's and I know that I am a smart person. Just remember that you are a good nurse and there is always room to learn and for improvement.

Oh Dear, plz do not worry about C's . Just do the best you can , when you sit for your boards and you pass (which you will) no one will ask what grades you got. It truly doesn't matter. Pray to be competent and safe. I'm probably a Ct on paper, a B in my heart and always an A for the patient. I'm sure some of my grades will pull up as I continue along, but I will never give up! Keep up the good work

well thanks for the support guys, i needed it! i have been on the wait list for 2 yrs already, :uhoh21: and just got a letter from the nursing counselor saying i'm number 54, and they only take 10 a semester from the wait list. i can only hope that 40 or so of them get accepted else where! :rotfl:

i don't think i'm in a big hurry, but it's just frustrating. i don't want to lose everything i've learned. maybe i'll have time to retake some of my c grades even though they would not accept the grade change if there was one :( .

last night my daughter says, (oh so wisely) well mom maybe it's just not your will right now to go in" i said "you mean god's will?" she says, "well you know whatever". there ya go, wisdom from a 12 year old. :)

Heather, if it happens that a BSN or an ADN won't work out for you, you CAN go for an LPN and then bridge over. Two of the students in my class who failed in our first semester of nursing school went this route. It worked out very well for them, one already has her ADN and the other one is back in school now.

That is good news to hear others who struggled and made it in! Exams are always gonna be a challenge for me, but i feel my strength is in patient care physically and emotionally. And I really struggle with putting in the time needed. Once i'm home, i really struggle with splitting my personality into mom or student! :chuckle One friend of mine, would stay at school, even if it meant hours longer, so that once she was home, she was really "home". That gal is now in Med. School to become a DO. I think i will prob have to do the same since i have a hard time "splitting". Thanks all. Heather

Ask how many nurses what their GPA in nursing school was and they will probably look at you crazy. Sure it's important to pass nursing classes with a C or better but just because you pass with a C doesn't mean you won't be a great nurse. A, B or C GPA graduates will all make the same amount of money.(depending on what area you go into, what hospital you work at, and what state you live)!!!

Five years from now, nobody cares what marks you had in school. They only care that you are competent.

That is true, i guess i am just worried, that i won't make it through sometimes. My goal of course would be to be competent, or i wouldn't want to be there.
