Passed my CPNE :) !!

  1. 6 Hey all, I haven't posted in awhile but wanted to let everyone know that I passed my CPNE at Mertier Hospital in Madison, WI September 13-15, 2013. It can be done !! I studied hard, read and broke down the study guide until I was dreaming CPNE and knowing it like I knew my social security number lol. Did all of the EC message center and phone PCS on the EPN. I also did weekly phone conferences with advisors and emailed them questions daily. I used Rob's CPNE items and I did Sheri's online workshop for about 6 months. They all helped me be successful. Control your nerves and perform at your exam with confidence and you will do fine. I used a grid and Rob's mnemonics and passed with no problem. I officially graduated with my ASN from EC 11/15/13 and now I'm waiting on my ATT to take my NCLEX-RN so my dreams are coming true. I also starting the RN-MSN in nursing education program at Western Governor's University in February 2014, but this could not all be possible without Excelsior College so keep at it and with hard work and determination it will all pay off. Good luck to everyone and you can do this !!!

Congratulations, so happy for you! I passed the CPNE on my second attempt on October 11-13. This exam is very difficult, but success can be achieved with hard work and practice! After 11 years as an LPN, I am finally moving up! Excelsior College will always have its critics, but if it weren't for their non-traditional associate's degree program, I would not be a graduate nurse. Best wishes to you, my fellow GN!

Congratulations! I don't post as much as I use too either but I passed CPNE back in Sept as well at Grady in Atlanta. It sure was a booger but by the grace of God he saw me thru it. Every morning before work I got up and ran thru all my labs. After work daily I came home and did 3 practice PCS until I knew my areas of care without thinking about it. I would always practice using more than 2 interventions just to get practice in with revisions. It's definitely doable. You must know your stuff, be confident and not cocky. One thing no one really told me or maybe I didn't think much about but making your interventions relate back to your outcome. I've had people tell me that but they never explained it to where I could understand it. You can come up with interventions all day long but if it does relate back to your outcome you're screwed by the time you get to your evaluation phase if you're that lucky. I didn't realize that until my actual PCS care plan doing the planning phase. That's where I spent most of my time. The light bulb didn't go off when I was practicing on my own at home. I did do Sheri online workshop. Practice makes perfect even when you feel like you got it don't under estimate knowing this stuff. I learn by repetition but everyone is different. GOOD-LUCK to everyone in this program it's not easy because if it was everyone will be doing it! I'm now prepping for NCLEX waiting on my ATT, which I should be getting it anyday now. Wish me luck!! Please pardon my grammar issues.
